The Xbox and Xbox 360 collecting thread (rare/valuable/etc)

Black is a fantastic game. It plays well on the 360 although it is the XBLA version so if there are differences I don't know them.

As for the oXbox I never owned one when it was current. I got one through the forums last year from Ziggy but lost it to a 17 foot storm surge. I went recently to a place called The Digital Press in Clifton, NJ passively and saw they had copies of some sought after titles: Star Wars: KOTOR, KOTOR II, Morrowind: GOTY Edition and Jade Empire. All complete and in fantastic condition from the box and manual to the disc. Clean clean clean. I went nuts because I've always wanted to own those games but I felt uncomfortable buying used from amazon or ebay because I can never inspect the condition. I already owned Forza, Halo CE and 2, and Fable The Lost Chapters because of the sequels on the 360. I picked them up new from amazon a few months ago. Those 8 games, the first four mentioned before, are my biggest things going for oXbox. I want to get Jet Set Radio Future and Ninja Gaiden Black on my next visit which will be this weekend to NJ.

I do wish the PSO Ep 1&2 were playable on the 360 but it isn't on the compatibility list with good reason: it requires Live but servers are done.

Damn, this makes me wanna cry a little bit.

I am about 90% done with my domestic Xbox collection... and I knew of none that actually had a complete collection before this (lots of people say they do, but actual visual proof is hard to come by, there are also a lot of empty case collectors 'but they'll never know' "collectors" out there -_-)

I thought my collection would be one to stand out from the crowd, amongst my many other large system collections. Now I am already beaten.

I do have rules though, which has certainly slowed the process. I refuse to pay over $5 (total, including shipping) for any game that isn't widely known to be rare/valuable. This is becoming increasingly problematic nowadays, as every gamestop $1-bin-diver thinks their $1 purchase is now worth $10 and sell it as such. Really annoying when someone thinks a common game or a EA sports game from like 2002 is worth over $1... which is way too often now. I feel like I started too late on this front, the sweet spot for collecting Xbox was like 2008, when it was being phased out of regular retail fronts and games were being clearanced out like crazy. Game collecting even that short a time ago was nowhere near as expensive as it is now.
Seems like everyone's rehashed and regurgitated wives tales and internet stories of hidden valuable gems and retro gold mines for "vintage" systems being found at flea markets and garage sales for 50 cents have finally reached even the most technologically-enfeebled of minds. So now every generic and easy to find title is $10 flat and no one likes haggling anymore, too scared to be conned out of a fortune... like Xbox has any 'fortunes to be had'.

Anyhoo, congrats on your collection xboxsegafan. I will finish mine soon and weep about my rules preventing me from doing it quicker, lol.

Alright it has been awhile since I posted anything xbox collecting related but here is a first I have completed the Original Xbox Platinum Hits Set that is known to exist. Notwithstanding picture proof of Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup, Blitz the League, and Mortal Kombat Deception before adding them to the List of Original Xbox Platinum Hit line.

Without Further Ado the Complete (As of Now pending proof of above titles) Original Xbox Platinum Hit Line Not "Best of" line.
