Ghosts is supposed to have dedicated servers on all platforms but....
Ghosts will be using a hybrid system of dedicated servers and listen servers. So no matter where you are the game will always be trying to give you the best online performance possible.
What on earth are 'listen servers'? Can my tech savvy people explain this? Is this a good thing?

So CoD Ghosts will require a 50 gig install on PC. That is insane. I mean the entire world in Xplane is 55gigs, but that is a hardcore flight sim, that supports up to 4 quad core processors to render real time weather and flight patterns.

Poor compression on IW's part I imagine. Maybe as a PR stunt to say "SEE. ITS NEXT GEN. IT TAKES UP LIKE 10 TIMES MORE SPACE NOW".

Listen server = server that you are running on your machine as you play.

In comparison to a dedicated which is just running the server, it is not hosting a player. The hybrid system, if it works, will be great. Personally I like the floating listen server system used by AvP Gold. So if the host dropped out for whatever reason, hosting would be shuffled over to the next best connection.

It's still only going to be 6 hours long though.

Not entirely true. In Battlefield's case, yes. They are multiplayer games first and foremost. Many of the early games in the series had little more than a multiplayer AI bot section for its "singleplayer." It's a series that has always been focused first and foremost on a multiplayer experience, so I take no issue with it continuing to do so. In fact, considering some of the problems I saw when my roommate played through the BF3 singleplayer campaign, I don't think that game should have had one either.

But while Battlefield is that way, Call of Duty started with a very strong singleplayer story. It was vastly superior to many other WWII games of its era in this aspect, because it focused not solely on the American side of the war. In fact, one of my favorite levels of any FPS ever is the Soviet-side mission in which you must cross the river into Stalingrad. It is a moment of great visceral strength, watching helpless as the boats around you are raked by machinegun fire, Russian soldiers leaping off the boat out of fear only to be shot in the back by their own commanding officers, seeing the hill looming ahead of you that you must climb as it grows steadily closer. And then you run. If you don't run, you die. If you turn around, you die. If you don't run fast enough, you die. Even if you run fast enough, you may still die. And all around you everyone is screaming, bullets are flying, smoke belches forth, airplanes are crashing, and men are dying. Few WWII games were able to create such a memorable experience, and the series never quite managed to recapture the urgency and despair of that level. And I think it just makes it worse, knowing some poor Russian sons of bitches had to actually do that.

I think that if the 3 single player campaigns in the Modern Warfare series were released as one standalone FPS campaign, it would be well regarded on its own merits. I am in the minority that plays recent COD games for the single player stuff first and foremost and maybe only dabbles for a few hours in multiplayer...and I've continued to enjoy the series.
