I have still been distracted. But I will play it sooner than later!Nemoide wrote:I assume the other folks playing this are moving along at a snails pace like I am?
But I found Pharod! And I guess now I have to go through a dungeon or something. PROGRESS.

I've been slacking off... BUT AM STILL TECHNICALLY PLAYING. Today I got into and freed from the Dead Nations.
FUN FACT: "The Silent King" is the name of an episode of Adventure Time. I had no idea it was a reference! Unless it's some kind of well-known phrase I've just somehow never encountered before?

BTW, one of the tips I remember is that I should keep the bronze sphere Pharod sent me to find. I found it, but should I just never talk to Pharod to complete the quest or what? That seems like a really weird way to do things.
Re: Together RPG - Western RPG - Planescape: Torment
Well, I started this game a couple of weeks ago, but other than putzing around Hive (lost) and doing the first half of a side quest, I accomplished nothing.
I sat down tonight and actually put some effort into it though, and managed to make some actual progress.
I completed a few side quests and just found Pharod.
I've never liked the isometric perspective in games, and it always takes me a lot of getting used to, but I feel like I'm adjusting to the game and its pace now. Hopefully the rest will come fairly smoothly.
Not a lot of time left in the schedule to finish this, but I'll try.
Bone, you beat it right? Can I ask about how long it took?

Main Story
28 Hours
Main+Extras
48½ Hours
Completionist
59½ Hours
Last time I played it it took about 5-6 days to beat. After you've found Pharod and completed the dungeon that follows, the main storyline is fairly linear
You might want to complete the sidequest in Hive to become a mage though

Definitely, the beginning is sort of aimlessly wondering around (which is fitting, given the storyline of the game), but once the storyline starts get going (after you leave Pharod's dungeon), there shouldn't be that much difficulty following it.CFFJR wrote: I've never liked the isometric perspective in games, and it always takes me a lot of getting used to, but I feel like I'm adjusting to the game and its pace now. About 30 hours.CFFJR wrote: Bone, you beat it right? Can I ask about how long it took?
This is the 3rd or 4th time I've beaten it though, so I had a decent chunk of the game memorized.
There are some walkthroughs out there that will lead you through the game - the problem is that they typically go into excruciating detail about any and every sidequest, so if you follow one of those you'll end up taking 60 hours!
To follow up on what Menegrothx said, the game's objectives get clearer once you leave the Hive. And I also highly recommend becoming a Mage. It's not mandatory of course, but seems to make the game easier to play (though, admittedly, I've never completed it without becoming a Mage).
