I watch my favorites over and over. Have seen Madoka 6 or 7 times now. Going to see movie 3 in December when it premieres in the US. :)

That said, I still no longer desire physical media. I had the Madoka TV BDs. Never opened them. That's been a theme for me w/ anime for the past few years. I still bought it but never opened it. But I'm over that. I'll buy it if they release it with Japanese audio digitally. If that doesn't happen then I'll continue to legally stream it or use some fan subs I have.

I also buy merch like figures and occasionally other goods. So while fan subs are hardly ever justified, I don't feel too too bad.

One of my recent favorites isn't even streaming here. Might be licensed though. Yamato 2199. But I will be buying a figure or two from the series so they'll still get some money from me. I think the Japanese BDs may have subs, but I'm not willing to pay to import TV anime. Or in this case, a long series of OVAs that also got a theatrical release and later a TV broadcast. I don't even know what to classify it as. It's a... tad... overpriced. Though admittedly I have imported a few anime films previously.
My B/S/T thread! :)

Can anyone give me an update on what is happening with the fairy tail anime series? I used to watch it weekly until it abruptly ended back in March, but haven't really kept up to date with the news surrounding it.

Wikipedia says that a sequel series was greenlit a few months back. Anyone know if this is true?

That's the hottest series out of Japan lately. Besides the usual One Piece being as popular as ever.

Personally, I stopped watching half way through the anime, but most of my friends love it. I hear about it so much that it is actually annoying at this point.

Unfortunately, you'll really start to notice the reuse of footage/etc by the end, but the action sequences are nicely done.

The Cowboy Bebop dub is exceptionally good, but the original cast is still 100x better. Despite how good he is, Steve Blum still has nothing on Yamadera as Spike. Hayashibara is the only Faye. And Wakamoto as Vicious, well, that speaks for itself.

I can honestly say I can't think of a single instance where a dub was better (simply being good, does not mean better), unless we're talking about so bad it's good being part of the entertainment value.
Nah, I thought the dubs for those shows were better. Even Shinichiro Watanabe liked the Bebop dub.

As for Madoka Magica - it's not showing anywhere in Wisconsin. There's a showing Sunday in Chicago...fat chance I'll make it

It's not to bad. Its very much like one piece in that you follow a core group of friends that slowly grows with each arc. However it feels a lot more repetitive and predictable :P. Season 3 and the first half of Season 4 were kind of a drag in my opinion but towards the second half of 4 things started to heat up. Was really disappointed when they ended it in the middle of a magic tournament :P. The stop was so abrupt that I didn't expect to see the series to come back at least not where it left off. At best I was thinking we would get a remake in a few years like what happened with Hunter x Hunter.
