Done. Thanks dood! Both my direct supervisor and my "sensei" are typing up letters for me. I wouldn't have even thought about that.

I understand I may have to settle on another job temporarily, but it's a tough pill to swallow after fighting so hard to get into this career path. There's still tons of opportunities in this area so I'm not ready to go back to Best Buy just yet.
Shoot me a pm. Let me know your skills/experience or maybe email me your resume? Have any certs? This could help me know what type of jobs you may qualify for that I can refernce for you.

Houston also has an extensive headhunter network for contract work.

Sending a pm now.

:? I don't feel nearly as bad about getting fired now. Just found out who the other Admins that got canned were and they were MUCH better than me in my opinion. Guess they just weren't "fast enough".

These things happen, Jinx, and it certainly does not appear to be related to your performance at all. It sucks that you will have to look for another job, but your experience - and some letters of recommendation - will really help you land something.

Keep your head up. Do what you have to do to pay the bills until you can find something new. Expand your network and keep in touch with your former co-workers. Be sure that you follow up on your electronic applications with telephone calls. We will all be rooting for you; so, please let us know when you land a new, better position.

...and new rivals. But definitely keep in touch with them and see where they plan on submitting their resumes.

:| I had to wait on hold forever to talk to someone to set up my new internet

:) At least the person that got to me was very nice, she was super helpful. On top of that it didn't take much time at all and the guy will be out today to set up the internet.

:D Yesterday was a stressful mess! But I am almost fully unpacked and moved into my new house. I'm off today so I've been a busy little homemaker and I'll be off this weekend as well. My room is looking pretty spiffy!

:x Still way too much that needs to be done to the house. Tomorrow we have a guy coming out to replace the stove, check the furnace and then run the dryer to blow out in the yard and not into our basement. The electricians that were here on our move in day not only took forever but they broke the light covering and just left it like that and bailed. New windows are going to be installed on the 17th and they are resurfacing the tub after that. Our landlord is a nice guy and I'm glad we are getting some updates to the house but most of this should have been done way before our move in date. On top of that our shower was broken on the first day...the fancy shower head just squirted everywhere and soaked everything in the bathroom, it was very much improperly installed. Thankfully the old plain shower head was still in the house so I switched them out and it works great. Oh and because of this last minute work, the floors are just gross! I've swept and mopped several times already.

:| At least we were able to get in on our planned date, if he had waited for all of this to be done prior to letting us move in we'd be pushed back until middle of November I bet which would be a major drag.

You should be all smiles that you don't have to pay for the upgrades.

Smile: MLB playoffs tonight, and looks like I'll also be hosting a poker game.

Yesterday was my shift at Epcot. Without any sleep the night before and my stomach torn up from excessive amounts of soda (MtDew), and by excessive I mean roughly 96 ounces in less than 24 hours, not to mention the fact that I've never been there, I was nervous.

:( First I found what I thought was my area, but it turned out that I was in the area for backstage custodians and I was onstage custodial, so I had to find that area. It took me a while, but I found it.

:) I got assigned to do streets at the World Showcase, specifically Japan and American Adventure. I mostly just walked around checking the trash cans and recycling bins and emptying them if they needed to be emptied. I also cleared the cigarette butts from the smoking areas and swept up any trash I found. Overall, I kinda liked it. And they have this store in the Japan section and in the windows I saw some cool stuff, like Pokemon merch, some anime stuff and a few things based on Legend of Zelda (one thing I saw was either a blanket or a messenger bag with the Triforce on it). There was also an area where they did this traditional drum show (IDK what it's called) and a kiosk that sold Japanese snacks and such, including an ice-filled bin selling Ramune, among other things.

:D Oh, and apparently last night was the last night that The Go-Gos (yes, The Go-Gos and not some cover band) were playing at the concert area in front of American Adventure. They were playing as part of a concert series called "Eat to the Beat", which has a new band every few days, and the next band is Air Supply (don't care) and some of the other bands on the schedule include 38 Special (don't know who they are), Sugar Ray (haven't cared in years) and Hanson (I thought they were supposed to bring in GOOD bands).

:( Towards the end of my shift I was told there'd be a meeting at 10:30 but I didn't know where it was (it was at the building I had to go to when I started my shift, which is also where I had to go to drop off my keys, radio, broom and dustpan) and it took me a while to get ahold of the coordinator who told me where the meeting was (I missed it BTW), and then I had to wait for the bus (apparently since they don't have the underground areas like Magic Kingdom does, the use buses to get people from one backstage area to another) and it was already crowded when I got on (I had to stand), and then they made a few stops and picked up around less than two dozen people before we got to the Cast Building.

:) Got a free 16 oz soda from the Hess station on my way home (Fanta Strawberry mixed with Fanta Lime, the latter on its own looks ultra-Shrek-green, not like the citrusy yellowish-green of MtDew), which sometimes happen.

:( Had a hard time finding something for dinner and settled for the Michellina's entree in a variety I didn't really care for (Ziti Parmisiano(sic?)).

:( Slept in really late (about 11-12 hours), and on the loveseat no less (which is where I've been sleeping for almost 3-4 weeks after we moved into the motel room).

Japan, Epcot was one of my absolute fav things at Disney. That shop was awesome and I spent about an hour there. That's where I got my little Pikachu figure. I remember them also having some PS2 imports and various Mega Man figures as well. There's a stand near the big Japanese restaurant that sells green tea ice cream which is delicious, and complimented the lovely Kirin beer which I've yet to find for sale locally.

I'm sure the answer is going to be unsatisfactory, but what possessed you to do such a thing?

Hope it wasn't a mandatory meeting.
