Should The Redskins change their name and Logo?

I agree there isn't as much backing to get it changed. If they were the Washington Niggas then it would have been too much pressure. I wouldnt choose that name and it is in general poor taste just as I wouldnt say hello Redskin to a NA.

Despite this, I respect the right for a team to have the name they choose.

I can't argue with that... I would hope one day it does get changed though... The Indians logo offends me more, but that franchise has even more history than the Redskins..

Exactly. The name is in a gray area where some hate it and some don't care. Since it's nor black nor white, the chances for change are extremely slim.

Many people including myself do but when you calculate that fact that there is no unified outlook on the name and the extreme amount of money it would take, the chance of a change is very slim.

While were on the topic do people give the Cleveland Indians crap about their logo? While Redskins is a far more offensive name the Indians have a far more offensive logo.

So the fact that many Native Americans were killed by the spreading of disease as well makes the fact that we very deliberately stomped them and their culture out not genocide, makes perfect sense. Funny how he doesn't mention the devastation we inflicted on the buffalo population as another indirect cause of Native American downfall since that sounds too malicious.
