I'd buy it for $99.

You know, the 2DS might be a great option for an import system. Cheap and built for durability.

That is a good point actually, though it hasn't been announced for a Japanese release (i'm sure it will be).Opa Opa wrote:You know, the 2DS might be a great option for an import system. Cheap and built for durability.

Would rather get an XL for imports.
But yea, if you don't care about the MUCH larger screens then the 2DS would be alright.

Actually after owning a 3DS XL for 4 months now, I tried an original 3DS and could not believe how tiny the screen is in comparison. I couldn't play the game on that tiny screen, it was too annoying.ZenErik wrote:Would rather get an XL for imports. But yea, if you don't care about the MUCH larger screens then the 2DS would be alright.

My standard 3DS seems fine to me. I have a DSi XL and playing DS games on my normal 3DS didn't bother me either. Is it that bad?

Re: Nintendo Announces 2DS....thoughts?
I like the idea. Cheaper, is better. And I didn't like the 3D effect much, anyways. What I had played of it, it seemed that you had to have the screen at a certain angle in front of your face, or else it just looked like a double-image. So the loss of the 3D effect isn't a big deal to me. But the drop in price is.

It was to me. Specially since the game I was trying out was Lego City (sandbox games tend to need bigger screens for you to be able to tell the small details apart when you are zooming through the city).Valkyrie-Favor wrote:My standard 3DS seems fine to me. Yeah, I'm the same. My brother owns a standard 3DS and when I went to play it after having owned a 3DS XL for a short while, I couldn't stand the tiny screen.ZeroAX wrote:Actually after owning a 3DS XL for 4 months now, I tried an original 3DS and could not believe how tiny the screen is in comparison. Yea, I never used the 3D effect. The biggest problem as you mentioned, is that you need to hold the screens exactly right in order to achieve the effect.BurningDoom wrote:I like the idea. I do, however, love the XL screens.
