A lot of the times fake gba carts have licensed spelled wrong. It'll usually appears as Licfnsed.Sload Soap wrote:estocks or Zooverstocks (think they are the same) is either great or shite.
Examples in favour: CIB version of F-zero GP Legend for a less than a fiver when the listing stated it as cart only, a excellent copy of Castlevania: Curse of Darkness for xbox for a third of the price of the nearest listing and several other xbox games in near original condition for 1 penny.
Example against: Two copies of Kinghts of the Old 2 ordered, one never came, one had a Knights of the Old 1 disc inside. Gunvalkyrie stated as being complete but had no manual and a couple of things that never turned up.
The good thing about them is they will give a refund without asking for the item back most times. So I bought Knights 2 from steam and put the case in with my xbox games.
I can't shame anyone specifically but I have been merked twice on game boy advance games on ebay. Always put the code on the front label of the cart into google is my advice.

I've bought quite a few Saturn and Super Famicom games from hit-japan, never had an issue.

It usually arrives when you least expect it.
Re: Ebay/Amazon Hall of Shame
This is typically at the whim of customs and not so much the seller. I've had stuff from Japan arrive as quickly as the same week, and I'm talking bottom level shipping. Sometimes stuff doesn't show up until the next month. That's not to say the seller is never at fault, but my point is that there is a definite grey area to take into consideration with this issue. And the US is lucky with customs, some European countries (Italy comes to mind) are notorious for having very bad luck with customs, with pretty much no compensation in place for additional costs or straight up lost packages.oxymoron wrote:How long does it usually take to arrive?
If I really am concerned about getting my package quickly I just do EMS shipping.

I've had great luck w/hit-japan. He/They almost always take 70% of their asking price, they combine shipping, pack well and ship fast.
Yamatoku-classic has become slow to ship over the past 18 months as they've become bigger. It is usually 4-5 days after payment that I get the email that my package shipped - it used to be 1-2 days. Not a big deal and they still pack well.
I agree w/Erik, 9 times out of 10 the item is as good or better than I was expecting. On occasion a game will have a sunfaded spine or crushed plastic tray (SFC). Depending on the game i'll let it go or make a comment. I don't recall every being upset about a reply or response back.

For me, it can't be a fluke since I'm blocked. What a fucking douchebag.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I've bought a good amount of stuff from hit-japan: PC Engine Duo, Neo Geo AES, WonderSwan Color, and several Super Famicom, PC Engine, and Saturn games. (btw hit-japan and Game of Japan are run by the same dude)
Thing is, it's like anything else negative in this world. I bought plenty, never had a problem, left positive feedback. The one time he fucks up, it's auto-block, refusal to refund, and act pretty shitty. But that doesn't mean that most people will have a problem with him. Just wait until you do. When you do, you'll see too.

Everyone makes mistakes but that whole thing is just fucked up. I mean If you make a mistake try and fix it. I've ran into problems before (besides the one I wrote about) and the seller is always apologetic and works hard to fix what he did.o.pwuaioc wrote:For me, it can't be a fluke since I'm blocked. Re: Ebay/Amazon Hall of Shame
I just had my first bleh with them after many great transactions. They had a complete uncommon game for the right price. I missed paying $2 more for EMS upgrade and it went south. They never marked the game as shipped and the game has never arrived. 3 days before the final day to say anything I pinged asking about it and they didn't respond at all. I got a default judgement money back from ebay, but really I wanted the game. It's been another week (about 6 total now) and no game has shown up.mjmjr25 wrote:Yamatoku-classic has become slow to ship over the past 18 months as they've become bigger.

Re: Ebay/Amazon Hall of Shame
now days for imports i pretty much 100% use rancor from shmups or our Toktugol to get me stuff off amazon.jp or locally in the shops. Sure they take a bit of a finders fee but its still vastly cheaper than what japanese ebay sellers are charging. Hit-japan in particular while I never had a problem with them, they really overprice their stuff.
