Ebay/Amazon Hall of Shame

Post by ninjainspandex »

After recently being ripped off by an Amazon seller and sharing my ordeal here http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 44&t=44175 I decided it might be a wise idea to start a thread where we can share our negative expieriences with dubious sellers. If a mod would like to sticky this that would be great for future reference. Also wasn't sure wasn't sure if this belongs in the General Forum or B/S/T so if a mod wishes to move it be my guest.

Here's one that happened not that long ago to me.

Maybe it's a bit my fault but if your shipping from Japan all the way to Washington State and your shipping 4 gameboy games...package it better ffs.

A little story, you can judge if they were in the wrong or not.

Lately i'v been looking on ebay for game lots, get a lot of games for a low price, sounds like a damn good deal to me. So I stumbled across a gameboy lot. The games were Japanese but seeing how I knew the games well enough..I didn't see how it would be an issue if the text was Japanese (and I knew they would play on my GBA). It was sort of a last minute spur of the moment things...it had 5 seconds left and I placed my bid.

I won...the shipping was the high part...I felt a little ripped off by it but not enough to make a deal out of it. I didn't pay for insurance..so thats partly my fault. It took a while getting here but it came from Japan so again...not a huge deal. I open up the package and guess what I found? My four games, in a thin bubble mailer, laying on cardboard and held in place with plastic wrap. So little to no protection. Was it any wonder that one of my games was damaged and little chunks of plastic casing were in the mailer?

I didn't feel like shelling out more money to send it all the way back to Japan to get a refund...besides it did still work...it was just pretty banged up. In the end it made me leave the person neutral and made me rethink if I should buy anything without insurance from Japan or any far off place again.

About a year and a half ago I bought a keyboard attachment for my tablet from Ebay. The seller specifically listed it worked for my tablet which didn't have a usb port but instead a specialized one from Samsung. He was a power-seller and the attachment was at a good price ($15 I believe) so I didn't have any worries. It arrived a few days late (but that's USPS's fault) only for me to find out it was indeed a a generic usb keyboard. I immediately contacted Ebay and argued w/ them for an hour only to be told that through some damn loophole (I forget the specifics as it was a long time ago) he wasn't required to give me refund. Ever since that the whole "power-sellers are safe" thing doesn't cut it for me.

I think you missed the point of this thread. It is to publish the user names of sellers that have done you wrong so that others may avoid them.

Amazon.com-- dcure703

Bought an official SNES power brick off him.

Item was not even shipped until 7 days after the latest expected delivery day. Apparently he prints of the shipping labels so that they are considered "shipped" through Amazon and occasionally he just forgets to ship the item. Took 5+ messages before he got the package to his postal service and he only did so after I told him I had already bought and recieved the product from another seller and would be seeking a refund which he had promised at an earlier date :P.

After a mix up with my A-Z claim which resulted in me only receiving a shipping refund he offered a full refund if I would ship it back to him and even offered to pay return shipping. However he claimed the item never arrived even though tracking confirmed it's delivery. He then hustled me until I took down my feedback before refunding my money :P.

Tried working it out with Amazon customer service before giving in to his demands but it was like talking to a brick wall. So I ended up just giving in and filing a breach of rules complaint against him at a later date. During the ordeal I saw multiple other 1 star reviews from people in similar positions and they all mysteriously disappeared as well so I figure I am not the first person to be scammed by this prick.

Not so much here, but other forums have also commented about how shitty he (she? they?) can be when problems arise, such as here.

I've gotten at least one item from them - slow shipping and shoddy condition, but it was the cheapest available.

Exactly what happened to me. I mean the gameboy cart worked in all but chunks were missing from it because they didn't package it good enough.
