I've been keeping my math and programming related books for reference but that's about it. The books that will only be used for one class (sociology, history, other humanities/electives) I just can't afford to keep, even though the hoarding pack-rat in me kind of wants to. I feel like holding onto the math books might not even be the best idea as they are the most expensive/most valuable.

In my experience the best students hang on to their books....

Law school is expensive enough. Saving on - or recouping the cost of - textbooks that cost more than gaming consoles is key to getting through it on a budget.

EDIT: I kept most of my college textbooks, BTW. New copies of those were a bit more reasonably priced, and the subject matter is generally far, far more interesting.

Since i'm guessing your a practicing lawyer I'd like to ask a question. Is the career anything similar to what the media makes it seem?

Yeah it wouldn't make sense for me to sell any of my books as each one is about a specific computer language... PHP, HTML, whatever...... Another one is a great CompTIA A+ Certification study guide. I need to keep them all around for reference.

Not really. The courtroom is always exciting, but most of a lawyer's work is done behind a computer screen and would not make good television.

Yes.

Also, just because something does not make good television does not mean that it isn't a good career choice. My work is often very interesting, very challenging, and occassionally exciting. I work with good people, and I enjoy my job very much.
