Ah yes, the "Radiant Sword"...it is good. I find there are one or two good sounds in a bunch of games, but I haven't found the complete package. Although, if you can believe it, I haven't played Under Defeat yet! I've heard it suggested a few times as being able to bring down the house.

Give Under Defeat a try... you should like it. Just about anyone should, actually. It's very noob friendly.

Unfortunately I've been waiting for sealed regular or LE versions to come down in price, but they keep going up...and most of my future buying plans revolve around the 360 shooters. I'll definitely have UD one day.

You might want to give Gate of Thunder a try if you haven't already. Besides being an overall excellent horizontal shooter, it has crisp and distinct sounds along with a soundtrack that's quite good.

Who knows, maybe with the right sound system, it could "rattle a player's junk"

That's a very good choice. I was just playing it a little while ago and the explosions are indeed very crisp, and most of the weapon sounds are good without being annoying. The explosions are so good that things actually sound like they are breaking instead of just "poof" going up in smoke.

Aside from the sounds, the music and the game itself are also pretty awesome, so it does have a lot going for it. I wish it would get a home console re-release other than the VC.

I was playing it at someone else's flat so I didn't have a chance to turn the volume way up and see if my junk would rattle. Maybe next time I'll suggest it.

I'll add, in terms of music, I think Zuntata's soundtracks are great.

That's Taito, mind you.
