The 2-hour pilot was released on VHS as a movie, don't know if it ever made it to DVD, don't know why anyone would waste their time transferring the piece of garbage, though.Jrecee wrote: I've heard of that but I thought it was only a tv show?

I'm cool with this only because of this quote:Oscar-winner Ben Affleck will play Batman in the upcoming film, pairing iconic DC Comics heroes Batman and Superman, as announced by Warner Bros. Thursday and reported by both Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter.
Snyder does a great job casting. Think what you want about Watchmen, the casting was spot on. Plus if Batman is going to be a long-winded speech giving mentor - Affleck delivers dialog like that well. For whatever reason I see Affleck's Batman/Bruce Wayne being more like Michael Keaton's."Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry's Superman," Snyder said in the press release. "He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can't wait to work with him."

Frankly, I'm baffled by the decision. I'm in the minority when it comes to liking the Daredevil film. Most comic fans hated it. You'd think after that reaction to Daredevil, DC would would want to stary far away from Affleck, especially considering the similarities the characters of Daredevil and Batman share.SpaceBooger wrote:I'm cool with this only because of this quote:Oscar-winner Ben Affleck will play Batman in the upcoming film, pairing iconic DC Comics heroes Batman and Superman, as announced by Warner Bros. And I don't see Affleck pulling off Batman, personally. Batman is supposed to strike fear into his enemies. I can't see Affleck striking fear into anyone. But I've been proven wrong with roles I thought sounded bad before, so I'm not gonna write him off completely until I see it.

Full fledged member of the "on the fence" club here.. one hand, its Ben Affleck. Other hand, he may surprise us. After all, everybody cried foul when Ledger was cast as Joker; yet he went on to receive critical acclaim for his portrayal. But this is Bruce "the goddamn Batman" Wayne. He needs to be a stuck up aristocrat and an asshole superhero.
Affleck just may be the stuck up asshole we need. Sounds to me like the part he was born to play.

I was a bit shocked to find him playing the role but I look at him and he actually fits the part.

But since they've committed to go with him,
how about they go the whole hog

Re: The next Batman film.
I can see Ben as more of a Grant Morrison Batman. Kevin Smith should get Affleck on his Fatman podcast asap so everyone knows Ben knows his Batman. Doing any damage control at this point would be a good thing.

Noise, THE DARK KNIGHT is something great.
So the Internet crowd is pulling their hair out over this casting decision and the fact Ben is co-stars with Justin Timberlake in his next movie isn't going to help.

I admit, that one does look good. I'd always kind of planned on seeing it. But then I felt like I was supposed to see Begins first?Luke wrote:Noise, THE DARK KNIGHT is something great.
