Well if you want to go that far, crashing cars don't sound anything like TVs/Movies/Games. With so many cars having ABS there's generally only a tire squeal if someone is sliding sideways and there's usually just a sad metal thunk and a pathetic engine stall.

To expand on that, I notice in a lot of movies that aren't car-centric, the engine startup sounds usually don't match the car's make nor the engine's size.

Yup, and anytime someone's car won't start when there's a monster/flood/aliens coming, it will pretty much sound like a 70s Mopar. Skip to 30 seconds.

I can't believe Atari decided to use the same sound-chip in the Atari 7800 again.
The 7800 sound degrade was a dumb move, probably done for 2600 compatibility. Weird that the older 5200 sounds so much sweeter. You just reminded me of another "portable" that has an annoying sound. The background humming buzz in a Vectrex.
Oh, I didn't mean any background hum. I mean the loud buzzes/sqeaks that are commonly used as sound-effects in many Atari 2600 games.

I love Atari 2600 noises... The boops... The bleeps... The EXPLOSIONS!

Here's some bad sounds: playing old DOS games with the dreaded INTERNAL SPEAKER.

Alex Kidd when he gets hit in The Lost Stars. It's like a half second clip of Lloyd making the "most annoying sound in the world" from Dumb & Dumber, with feedback thrown in.

Yeah, in a zombie apocalypse movie, a Honda Civic would make that sound.

Selecting a character in Golden Axe: The Duel on the Saturn is pretty harsh on the ears:

Also, am I correct to assume this is the loudest Saturn game? & One of the stage themes is even LOUDER than all the other tunes, so when that comes on it really becomes apparent just how noisy this game is.

Apogee games made pretty decent use of the PC speaker. I remember the first Duke Nukem pretty well and its sounds. Other games (Jill of the Jungle series) are scary sounding. Sound cards were not cheap!
