I briefly mentioned it before. Supposively the console and downloadable versions aren't as good as the PSP iteration.

You may also wish to check out the online services for demos and downloadable titles. There are a few fully downloadable games that seem interesting like fl0w and echochrome. The homebrew scene is meant to be quite good as well with a few neat indie games made in Lua. Ummm, look for the QJ site PSP-Updates, they'll have some more information there.

I'd like to keep this thread going just a bit longer

What do you guys think of Patapon? It looks interesting

How bad are the sound issues on Final Fantasy Tactics:WOTL? The slowdown I can live with but the sounds issues...I don't know. That sort of messes up the game's faithfulness to the original.

If anyone has Disgaea on the PSP, is it a bit easier to power level? I hear there are new leveling spots and a useful thing called the Foresight glitch. Is it still a pain to make strong story characters? Strong enough to take Baal that is. I sort of hating using Divine Majins in the original. Sure, they were the strongest class, but they were nobodies. I'd rather level story characters.

Patapon is good depending on what your into. Its a blend of strategy, rythm, and action and makes for a great game.

I might grab this. I love quirky, original games and it seems to have a lot of charm. There is lots of items to collect too apparently, which appeals to the rpg fan in me.

On a random note, I saw an SNK compilation for the PSP recently with Sengoku and got excited, then realized it's the original and not Sengoku III. Damnit.

Thanks for the list, lots to digest.

Some of the PSP's imports are pretty sweet. There's a collection of Parodius games released in Japan, Twinbee is on the PSP too. Awesome

Wow, Mega Man:Maverick Hunter X absolutely sucks. I'm actually very surprised

The Castlevania:Rondo of Blood remake is everything that's RIGHT about remakes. This game is the complete opposite. I think I've officially given up on Capcom. Everything they put out these days is crap

EDIT: They changed the gameplay a lot. Levels are different, enemies are different, bosses are different. It's like the game isn't the same at all. Really annoying. I know it's a remake though and changes are too be expected, but MMX was awesome as it was. Tomb Raider and Resident Evil haven't aged well. So I understand them changing a bunch of stuff with their respective remakes, but MM X should have gone the way of the Rondo remake. They mostly left the gameplay intact in the rondo remake(just a few minor changes here and there)and just decided to add some cool stuff(extra bosses, extra stage, more cutscene and dialogue) and gave the visuals a fresh coat of paint.

The Mega Man X remake also butchers the story. It pretty much contradicts everything that has been established in previous games.

Oh well, now that I've derailed my own topic I think I'll go ahead and end it. Thanks for all the useful recommendations. Gotta love this forum

I just got a new PSP, used to own the first model, now i got the slim bundle with a blue slim PSP and Madden 09'

Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX is actually pretty good! I'd compare it to the dreamcast port, with extra characters.

Killzone: Liberation is addicting so far!

and Metal Slug Anthology is just plain awesome!!!!

Madden is "bleh" im not into football games

i really want to check out Metal Gear Portable Ops

God, finally finished Vile's cheap as hell hard mode. I don't like using him at all. One more knock against the Mega Man X remake. I'd had preferred playable Zero and it looks like you get nothing for beating the game on hard with both characters. Thanks for nothing Capcom

Portable Metal Slug sounds cool. I certainly wouldn't mind that, though MS 3 I'd avoid. That game's final stage is hell.

I hear a lot of 2-d fighters being recommended. Do they play well on a PSP pad? I wouldn't mind getting that Darkstalkers game, but I wonder how well it will play when I have to do constant fireball motions and half circles. I've got Vampire Savior on the Saturn and Darkstalkers 3 on the Playstation 1. I love the series. The PSP version is tempting
