So what? Putting in mouse control should of been a no-brainer, but instead they opted for aiming using the keyboard. It's on the PC for crying out loud.Mozgus wrote:Because it totally had mouse control on Cube and PS2.Flak Beard wrote:I thought the PC version was supposed to be the worse. What they opted for is a 1-night port with absolutely no work required. That's what Capcom does on the PC. Anyone who expected anything more had that disappointment coming to them, especially considering the game is called Resident Evil 4, and will sell millions no matter what.Flak Beard wrote:So what? I like your little capital G there. That makes your argument much more valid.Japhei wrote:The Wii version is Gay in the worst way.

Re: Wii version of Resident Evil 4 the worst version of the game
You're criticising the game for having better controls? Has the world gone mad? Did you hate Super Mario Bros. when it was remade in SUper Mario All-Stars with better graphics? No! Did you shun Halo when it was ported to the PC with more accurate mouse controls? No! So why RE4? I liked the Wii version. I think it might be just because of general hate of the Wii, another thing I don't understand, or else it's something I'm not quite grasping. If you don't like RE4 for the Wii, I respect you opinion, and I respect the people in this thread who have explained why they dislike it, but hating without reason, or even without explained reason is just rediculous.

Re: Wii version of Resident Evil 4 the worst version of the game
My point was that RE 4 was not made with Wii controls in mind. If mouse and keyboard like controls had been in mind when they originally designed the game, they probably would have made it harder to compensate. Like with more enemies, and faster enemies. What the Wii controls seem to have done from what some people have told me is dumb the experience down a little bit. Particularly in Mercenaries, which is more action-oriented than the main game.lisalover1 wrote:You're criticising the game for having better controls? Has the world gone mad? And when was I hating without reason? I'm pretty sure my entire first post explained my reasons, and I never actually said that I have hate for the Wii version either. Try READING and COMPREHENDING my posts instead of just getting defensive and reacting.

I don't see how having a better control system that makes the game more enjoyable to play as a bad thing.
By that logic Super Mario 64 sucks because tank controls are all you need... Why bother improving it.
If It's easier to play. It must suck. That is exactly what you are saying when you say that the easier controls in the Wii version make the game worse. There is no logic in that. If the world went by that logic then we'd all still be driving cars with 8 levers and about 18 gears...

Actually, I think he means it removes some of the tension. Part of the Resident Evil experience(and survival horror as a whole up to a point) has been sluggish controls. Not because they're great controls, but because that having to take a few seconds more to get away can really up the tension of the player. If Resident Evil 4 is easier to control, it means some of that feel is gone, and the experience as a whole is less scary.
Don't take that to mean I'm defending the old controls. They had their share of problems. But I think that's the point he was driving at.
