I'm going to preface this by saying that Final Fantasy 2, overall, is probably worse than 13.I never played either, but looking from the outside in, I really really reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally doubt that FF13 is a worse game than FF2.
But I picked up 13 for the 360 and was immediately turned off by the combat, the characters (except Sazh) and the story. Everywhere I turn, I see people saying "The game gets better at the 24 hour mark!" (or however long it was)
So I grit my teeth and go through the game until I get to the "better" part...
Fast forward about 6 months, i'm bored and go into a game store. I see the PS3 version on sale for a few bucks and decide to give it another try. At this point I didn't really remember what I had disliked about it before. I plug away for awhile with ever growing reluctance. Once again, I stuck another 25 hours into this game I haven't been enjoying looking for the part where it's supposed to get better. When I reached it, I remembered, then I quit.
Final Fantasy 2 may be downright unplayable, but i've never quit any other game i've stuck 25+ hours into. Yet I did it with Final Fantasy XIII twice.
