The Worst Games of This Generation

A shockingly bad game from what is otherwise a great series.

This was the first Lunar game I ever played; it took me a while for me to trust the series again.

My cousin found it for cheap so he bought it to try it out. He said it was horrible and that he was stuck in some place. I joined him with co-op to try to get past that part together. The game was truly the worst 3rd person shooter I have ever played. HORRIBLE controls alone made me want to stop playing. Apparently the game has even more stuff wrong with it.

In the end we took the disk out and threw it out the balcony, and waited for someone to pick it up. Kind of like passing on the curse (Jumanji style). And that balcony thing was a true story, I'm not kidding.

Yes but is it truly broken and horribad? Just because it's really bad, does not mean it's bottom of the barrel. Bottom of the barrel is "how the hell could they even release this game"

Also...I can assure you that Lunar: Dragon Song is really "bottom of the barrel/how the hell could they even release this game" bad. The fact that it bears the Lunar name only amplifies it horribleness.

It really is. Just a glimpse of insight as to what's wrong with the game: there's a fast-forward button for combat. After the first fight, you will never stop holding it down and fights will STILL feel like they're dragging on. You don't even make decisions in combat because you typically don't have enough MP to waste on regular enemies. You don't earn money directly from enemies, you have to pick if you want treasure OR experience points. When you have treasure, you can take delivery-quests and bring them to certain NPCs for money, which just bloats out the time you spend grinding. But to make things extra-terrible, there are all kinds of translation inconsistencies, so sometimes a character is referred to by a name that isn't actually their name.

THE ONLY THING THE GAME HAS GOING FOR IT is character design and music. And that's not enough to save an RPG this bad!

So does Etrian Odyssey I don't see that as a bad thing in games where there's a shit ton of battles where you'll just want to have all your units (casters too) use regular melee attack

Absolutely terrible and unfinished game that was rushed out to be a launch game. It froze within the first five seconds of playing it. I should have taken that as a sign but no, I ended up playing through the whole thing. I've never had a game freeze on me as many times as I did with this game. Constant glitches, freezing up, horrible graphics, abysmal frame rate, unfinished textures. This game has it all. Plus whoever though that including limb damage for the mobile suits was an idiot. "Hey you know what would be fun? Playing as a giant robot who walks extremely slowly and can only attack by kicking other robots in the shins." Truly the worst game I've played this gen.
