Diet? yuk.
Tell me about it. Diet is sh*t cuz of that skanky aftertaste that artificial sweeteners always have.

Also, Coke? Yuk. It's nothing more than Pepsi with double the syrup.

Then again, I tend to avoid cola. But flavored cola, like Cherry Coke, is alright.

Also, anyone ever try Cheerwine? It's this cherry soda that's made in my home state of North Carolina.
I guess I've never mentioned I'm a type 1 diabetic.

Don't worry about it. One thing that's nice is if I go to a party with 5 2-liters of regular and a 2-liter of diet coke, I'm garunteed 2-liters of soda, since I'm the only one drinking it. :)

Damn, this thread got 6 pages before I even noticed it. Either more people are posting and posting more often, or I'm just checking the forums less. Or both.

Anyway, I usually eat at Popeye's, Sonic, or Jack in The Box. But there's no Jack in The Box's anywhere close that I've seen. When I get pizza it's usually Papa John's, on occasion Pizza Hut. They're about equal here quality wise, but Pizza Hut only has Pepsi and Mountain Dew and only in 2 liters, so I always go with Papa John's when I'm low on soda. I prefer Coke and Sprite, although Sierra Mist or whatever the Pepsi copy is called is a close enough substitute.

I've never been to Papa John's, except for the one next to the Play N Trade in Kitty Hawk (or is it Kill Devil Hills? I can never remember the boundaries since I just call it all "Nags Head"). And that was just to get a drink. They're a small place, just big enough to place and pick up your orders.

But I love Pizza Hut. I usually get the Thin Crust Pepperoni Lovers. I totally miss The Edge, The Sicilian and The Insider. But what's really awesome is when I have leftovers and take them home. Because everyone knows that pizza tastes even better as leftovers.

There's also this other place which is considered a "pizza buffet". It's great.

As for what's local, I recommend a little place called Nino's Pizza. In Avon, there's Nino's and Toppers Pizza (not to be confused with another establishment of a similar name), but the latter is kinda skunky. The cheese has a powdery feel to it. There's many other places, including a place in Frisco called The Gingerbread House, but I don't know much about them.

Oh man that reminds me, I forgot about CiCi's, a little place that seems to be a chain but not a particularly big one, I've seen two or maybe three in this area and I think I saw them up in St. Louis when I visited too. It's buffet, with mostly pizza, though there's some pasta and salad too. The pizza can be kinda meh at times, but it's never too bad and good when I feel like stuffing myself with pizza and not having leftovers (cold leftover pizza FUCK YEAH). Cheap too. Though it sucks when there's a big crowd and the good kinds of pizza get taken right away, but they cook them pretty fast so I can just keep a eye on it and dash over when it comes out.

Dude CiCis Pizza is the shit! Like 4 bucks for all you can eat. They even make any pizza you want. I suggest the Mac and Cheese Pizza and the Buffalo Chicken Pizza.
