60hours sounds perfect to me. I've played my fair share of RPGs and quite a few of them seem to drag on a bit too long without the need to.ZenErik wrote:Shorter than I was expecting, to be honest. 63 hours including the (probably) unnecessary grinding I did. I got to lvl99 in the second to last dungeon. Did about 98% of the challenge quests. I only missed a couple of those.dsheinem wrote:I'm afraid to ask...how many hours?ZenErik wrote:Finished the game. Good stuff.
I expected 80+.
I think there is some story DLC if you're into paying for that kind of thing.ZenErik wrote:I don't mean that 60 is too short. But I wish a little more of that were for story, to be honest.
I know. I think we've all also played games that we didn't want to see end. Sounds like this one of those games for you.ZenErik wrote:I don't mean that 60 is too short. But I wish a little more of that were for story, to be honest.
You were also level 99 and almost certainly had a great set of demons. That's kind of how every RPG is if you're properly prepared.ZenErik wrote:The last two bosses were also extremely easy. I didn't use up any items on them. Because I thought there would be something more difficult after. Beelzebub was the toughest boss for me, and he was not even mandatory. Oh well.
That's how I'm playing. Haven't grinded at all. It's all about your set of demons, really. That's the most important thing in SMT games.noiseredux wrote:I feel like my playthrough is totally opposite dudes like erik and popo... I'm just really not a completionist gamer. So I'm collecting/fusing demons on a "need to" basis; I'm not doing much in the way of Challenge Quests; I'm completely avoiding paying any attention to FAQ's in regards to how to choose my Alignment; I'm not grinding (yet) just to grind, but rather leveling up naturally based on encounters I'm hitting through my own progression. I think it'll be interesting to see how my experience turns out vs. theirs.
