FTFY

Sure: treat all people with respect.

Good point, treat people like a people. Treat women like any other person, you would be surprised how they flock to you. Wanna turn on a woman, talk to her like you would any other male friend. They are people too, and just want to be treated that way. They might even respect you.

Who cares what who looks like in a game, male, female, transvestite! These are games and the idea of ugly or good looking in them is just the thoughts of people with way more time on their hands than they should have. Do something constructive, volunteer at a womens shelter, see if they care about women in video games.

Feel free to lock it up!

@The Original Post - I am entertained at the supposition that women are not beautiful because they are overweight, or fail to live up to your standard of attractiveness. I am even more entertained that you think this is a solution to sexism, and if it's even possible, more entertained still that this discussion is even taking place.

Thanks for the laughter, I eagerly await your next topic. Racketboy needs more comedians.

Forgot to add, it is the attitude/personality of the girls in games that makes them attractive. Strong females can be very attractive, or to some weak females attract them. It is all in what you perceive.

Here is a good question to just female gamers:

Do you care if game characters are good looking (based on what TV tells us it is, because if you are fat you must be ugly - at least that is what I am reading)?

I really don't know if this is serious or a strage attempt at satire. I mean, I have some thoughts about this but I really don't want to debate what's worth fapping to.

Why not look at sexism in the bible? Or any other holy book? Because if you want to find out about an issue you usually try to look at where it started not its most recent point of interest. Unless you are going for tabloid level journalism which Anita Sarkeesian obviously is.

Old news: http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en ... xism+bible

Scholarly analysis of sexism in ancient texts (and modern!) in all sorts of media has been going on for decades. Video games are not an exempt medium.

My point still stands though, It has nothing to do with video games and more to do with a short sighted tabloid ideology of what is going to get more hits for Anita Sarkeesian's videos.

Instead why not suggest why video games should be immune to all these terrible sexist ideas that are ruining the world and have been since the dawn of time.

Honestly I'm just really tired of this whole thing. More accurately I'm tired of Anita Sarkeesian getting undeserved attention. She's not really interested in any other discussion then how terribly represented women are in video games (and in some cases that's true) I mean honestly when I look at the games I've been playing as of late I can't think of many bad representations of women (except maybe DQ8 but even that could be a cultural difference between countries, and Dishonored but that has historical context and it's just part of the game world.) Instead of actually getting to the root of the problem and questioning why there is sexism in the vg industry she just points out LOOK LOOK THAT'S SEXIST! I think the fact that she's getting as much attention as she does is just a sign of the industries low self esteem.

Dudes, seriously. How obvious is this troll. What is going on here? I got a pretty good laugh from the first post, but then things started getting more serious.

Also very tired of this nonsense. Out of all the mediums where there is some perceived kind of sexism, why choose to examine video games? It is an inherently male-dominated, niche- interest hobby, so why is there any shock and awe that male gamers enjoy looking at attractive, female characters? Is it anything new? No. Is it present in every aspect of our society and has been since the dawn of time? Yes. Will it ever change? Damned if I know or even care. If you want to fight for female rights and gender equality, then take it to the court system or start a government petition. Arguing about gender issues in regard to video game characters is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
