Nonsense is fine if it follows a pattern. The SMT games are good about that; Ma- means it hits everyone, and there's a couple suffixes to indicate increasing strength. But who would guess Bufu is for ice and Zio is for bolt damage?

I thought Nei's "Res" was "Resurrection." But that's just too reasonable, isn't it?

I wonder what it actually does.

You're giving them too much credit. I don't think they're abbreviations. The fire spell is foi, bolt is tsu, wind is zan...

Right now I got ROLF up to level 6 and I am halfway through the first dungeon.

I've been using this site for spell guides, cause without it who really knows anything.
