A tip to all: Use maps. Consult a walkthrough. This game is cryptic as shit.
I'll start tomorrow evening - not leaving this one to the last minute like I did with SF2.

I'll be joining in with the 360 version. I am not well versed in RPGs so my discussion may not be the greatest. I guess I will go look for a decent map/guide.

I'm starting tomorrow evening as well. For a walkthrough, I might consult the RPGClassics Phantasy Star II Shrine. As for maps, gonna use that PSII Hint Book that I won off Ebay a few years ago.BoneSnapDeez wrote:A tip to all: Use maps. Consult a walkthrough. This game is cryptic as shit.

I'll be playing this on Kega Fusion for use with wonderful, wonderful save states. Looking forward to it!

That's the best online walkthrough out there.TheSSNintendo wrote:I'm starting tomorrow evening as well. For a walkthrough, I might consult the RPGClassics Phantasy Star II Shrine. Fantasy Anime has some great dungeon maps.

I downloaded the maps from Fantasy Anime earlier. The walkthrough on RPG Classics looks much easier to follow than a wall of text. I think I will be using that with the maps.

yeah, just jump right in.
To anyone not using maps, prepare to get your anus kicked. Aesthetically, the dungeons are confusing as fuck.

Yup.
And since the game has random battles if you get lost your HP will gradually be whittled down to nothing.

I agree with this. I played through it last year, and PS2 is baffling without a walkthrough. The game shipped with a strategy guide, however; so, you should not feel that consulting a walkthrough for this game is "cheating".BoneSnapDeez wrote:A tip to all: Use maps. Consult a walkthrough.
