Smile: Jimmy Buffet really knows how to play a crowd. At the concert in Chicago Saturday night he came out in a 'hawks jersey, changed a bunch of the song lyrics to be about Chicago (with accompanying imagery on the screens behind him), and one of the players brought out the Stanley Cup after a Margaritaville verse about winning in 17 seconds.

Double smile: This Friday I'm meeting up with an old friend and we're probably going to go here: http://gallopingghostarcade.com/

I finished a very cool Europe vs US thread with lots of data and comparisons but the login failed and I lost all I had written :(

I wanted to hate the US :(

He and James Taylor are nice dudes, but I can not stand their music. At all.

Frown: a/c went out again, and I don't think the thermostat is the issue. I'm going to ask for a $250 credit or to fix the problem for free. That way I give them an option while also cornering them. If they do not comply, I'm off to the BBB, Angie's List, and I might buy their domain name (it's available, and would cost less than ten bucks a year to own).

Smile: a/c guy said "I won't charge you a cent".

Bonus smile: Pretty sweet letter of recommendation:

"To Whom It May Concern:
I met Luke (deleted) in 2004 in a summer management class at East Carolina University. He sat directly behind me. However, he might as well have been sitting in front of me. His large personality left a positive mark on each class session and he was more engaged with the professor than the rest of the students in the class. I came away from that summer impressed with him.

After that session our paths continued to cross in multiple classes, most notably in a semester long internship with (deleted), NC. The objective of the internship was two-fold; to learn about (deleted) and its industry and to then research, target and recommend companies for (deleted) to acquire. The team, consisting of me, Luke and one other student, spent as much time at (deleted) as we did on the road traveling to hobby and specialty stores. In all that time, I got to know Luke better and my admiration for him grew. He was intelligent, driven, able to make connections that others sometimes missed and took charge of the group from a very early stage. This was crystallized for me, when after the internship was over and graduation had occurred, Luke secured a position with (deleted).

I recommend Luke for your position. You will have already gleaned this during your interview process, but by bringing Luke into your organization, you will be receiving an engaging, intelligent, driven and dedicated leader willing to work hard to make your company the best it can be.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

(deleted)

8) My incessant drumming is starting to make me lose weight. A little, but still, its losing.

:( / :) my other sister/brother in law are coming into town for the weekend, but they're bringing my nephews and niece, which will be nice.

Smiled - Finally offered a promotion
Ticked - It is back in the town I just left and as of right now I could not telecommute. And we cannot sell the house yet.

I was trying to think of somewhere that hadn't been. Screw it, we'll all just hate France again.
