Also got Monster Hunter 3, plays well, of course. Not exactly sure what one does in Monster Hunter 3 yet, but I assume its to hunt monsters. I just haven't figured out where to go and such.
Yeah Monster Hunter is a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people. When you get into the meat and potatoes past that harsh learning curve you can have a blast! There are people here on RacketBoy that play, so you might be able to grab some people and go hunting!

I really want to play Lego City: Undercover, that may be a purchase further down the line when it is a bit cheaper. How is it so far? Is it linear or is there a lot to explore and do?

Yeah, there is lots to do. My nephew beat the game and it only says 26.7% complete. Its open world too.

Another question, if I plan to get a lot of VC titles (both on the Wii U and Wii...) should I bother with the deluxe release, or does all this go on an SD card anyways?

Some of the stuff, like the transferring, sounds totally ridiculous. Ideally I'd like to carry over my Skyward Sword save so if I replay it I can jump into Hero Mode, but yeah. It sounds like a headache getting stuff over. And a headache downloading/saving/managing files. I have no idea why Nintendo couldn't have made this easier.

Games can't go on an SD card but they can go on an external hard drive. Transferring... It's not really a headache, just time consuming. It's mostly, put SD card in WiiU, wait. Put SD card in Wii and wait. Take SD card out of Wii and put it back into WiiU and wait.

If you don't want the black color, dock, or any of the extras the deluxe offers then there's nothing wrong with getting a basic. Just be prepared to buy an external hard drive at some point.

Mine may be going up for sale here soon if you're interested. Life is demanding some things of me that I may need the cash for...

There is one other element in buying a Deluxe, currently, you get money back.

It basically works like, if you spend $50 (accumulative) you'll get $5 to spend on Nintendo eShop. That's going through the end of 2014.

They might be releasing a White Deluxe set by the end of the year, they already confirmed it for Japan.

Yeah, color isn't a big deal, although I guess the white would really jump out lol.

So basically I have to go in knowing I'll need an SD card. I probably need to get a classic pro controller too. Luckily got this old legendary 120GB Seagate external I could probably use for this, what a hassle though... lol.

Yeah let me know though Ryan, I could maybe take a bite. I'm gonna run up to a closing KMart sometime this weekend to see if they have anymore left and some last minute good deals, if not I definitely might be interested.

Is it sad I mainly just want one to play Wii / VC games I can already access on a normal Wii (I have two...)? Haha, well I figure it's best to initially migrate and there's definitely some good looking Wii U stuff on the horizon. That and the convenience of playing some classics that look decent on an HDTV (I'm assuming like PSX games do through PS3) will definitely be cool.
