What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

First, i'm not saying I didn't enjoy them - I did/do. Like I just said, Brave, one of their newest releases, was outstanding. The point is not every film is going to appeal to both demographics - more importantly, it shouldn't.

I'd much rather have a movie that I love (as an adult), OR that my children love. It seems many movies go for both and do a disservice. Sure, "I thought it was pretty good. My kids thought it was pretty good." Is that what we're going for? Pretty good? I'd much rather have me think something was "just ok" and my kids "LOVED it!" than the alternative of everyone is moderately entertained.

The parts of movies that most of us adults might find funny are usually lost on the children - then the silly parts that the kids like make us roll our eyes and we all leave the movie having been entertained. I'm glad some studios are trying to thoroughly entertain children rather than moderately entertain both.

Nice try that doesn't happen in the last one.

Um, I don't remember it happening in Hallows Pt 1. If it did, it wasn't very significant or obviously permanent...then again the whole series is kinda a blur of meh for me.

Man of Steel
Krypton is exploding. Let's send the psychopathic general zod off the planet. Well... okay, as long as the Phantom Zone is completely unescapable... What? When the planet explodes the phantom zone will open like a broken screen door? Oh well, we'll all be dead, Zod will be someone else's problem.

Lois Lane can deduce Superman's identity in a brief montage, but the military can't.

Zack Snyder swapped his fast-mo slow-mo action for shakey cam can't see shit action.

There was a lot of fantasy-styled technology played pretty fast and loose. Russell Crowe's conciousness that opens doors. Superman and Zod's exposition heavy adventure in skull quicksand land. The phantom zone that's easily converted into a warp whistle. Stop asking questions, that's just what happened okay?

Overall I liked it. Killing Zod was a great moment. And Faora stole the action scenes.

You do know the next PIXAR film is a FINDING NEMO spin off, right?
There will be a couple Pixar originals before Finding Dory comes out for Thanksgiving 2015: Next summer's The Good Dinosaur and then Inside/Out for Summer 2015.

Also, Planes and the 2014 Planes sequel (ugh) are DisneyToons, not produced by Pixar, though obviously they come from the same lame, "Hey what if everyone in the world was a ____" idea.

Samuel Jackson needs to be in this movie, if only to say does he look like a fish.
