I'll avoid it, don't worry.

She's met me about 3 or 4 times, and I still had to reintroduce myself this weekend, so I'm obviously not grabbing her attention, so there's no point in trying or thinking about it.

For a brief second I thought you may have been a pilot.

Frown: $200 to get the a/c fixed on the second and third floors. My wife seriously needs to stop fooling with the thermostat. 3 visits from the a/c guys this year, and each time it's been because she fudges with the thermostat.

I wish we had those old school round ones (reminds me of a certain episode of Fawlty Towers) where you set it and forget it ronco style, but no. She had to get super digital touch screen thermostats with "schedules" and where "cool" can mean "fan" and "auto" can mean "manual".

The worst part about it is that when I asked if she messed with the thermostat again, she flipped out on me, and I still haven't received an apology. I don't expect one, but I deserve one.

This is one of those times where you shut the fu-- up and keep the occurrence in your back pocket. One day I'll be able to say "Oh? I'm wrong? What about when you blew up at me about the thermostat when you were 100% in the wrong?". When you're in a relationship, always keep the "I told you sos" in your back pocket. You use them immediately, and you lose 'em.

Frown: NO one who is not married or is under twenty should read the next few posts. NSFW, and it could ruin your adult life. I'm being serious on this one. Please heed my warning.
Seriously. If you're not married or under twenty, don't read what follows.
Can't say you haven't been warned.
I'm going to mention me having sex, so if that doesn't prevent you, God have mercy on your soul.
Not that I'm complaining, but "trying to make a baby" and "fooling around" are two entirely different things. On the plus side, performance means zip (pump and dump). On the down side, you kind of feel like you are being used. "My name is Luke and I'll be your sperm-bot today". Again, not complaining, but sometimes the act seems passionless.

I want things to go naturally, or "the way God intended" but my wife is nuts about this baby having thingy so I comply.

And if you didn't heed my previous warnings, you deserve to hear this: Ladies without Babies will cry at the drop of a hat when they see a baby. Get ready for night after night of your wife sobbing herself to sleep for not being pregnant. Get ready for her to be depressed and blame you and herself and everyone else for not being pregnant. Get ready to splooge in a cup, get great results, and be asked to splooge in a cup again for no reason. Told you not to read this.

I read that anyway, while eating, and am unphased.

I read it and wish Luke the best of luck.

Luke, please, please, do your best to make sure the kid's first words are "Sweep the leg."

I should have phrased my double negative better.

First words should be "Use the force", or anything in a deep James Earl Jones voice. My last name will die off the face of the USA if I don't have a son (or a weird daughter who keeps her last name after marriage). I'm the last of my lineage, so that also puts some pressure on me.

I heeded the warnings, but based on Apple and Ack's replies, one can only assume your wife is preggers with a karate instructor. Hopefully...you teach karate?

Also - thermostat, you do know you can get those old round ones and install it? They cost less than half the price, will last 50 years, and install in 5 minutes. Just uninstall the current one (cut power to your heaters first, the thermostas themselves are low voltage, but still best to have power off). Find out if you have one pole or two pole wiring, and then buy the appropriate thermostat.

Did you switch brains with Diablo Cody? Please never, ever say "preggers" again.

And nah, the wife unfortunately isn't pregnant.

Two pole, and the thermostat has already been changed. My wife loves the fancy ones, and she is the boss. Maybe one day I can just say "XBOX. Set temp to 78" and be done with it.

"Are you sure? Based on our calculated temperatures, you should set temp to 81. Shall I proceed with 81?"
