I'll avoid it, don't worry.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Uh-oh...Forlorn Drifter wrote:Smile: Got back from an FFA leadership camp thing I got sent into. She's met me about 3 or 4 times, and I still had to reintroduce myself this weekend, so I'm obviously not grabbing her attention, so there's no point in trying or thinking about it.

Frown: $200 to get the a/c fixed on the second and third floors. My wife seriously needs to stop fooling with the thermostat. 3 visits from the a/c guys this year, and each time it's been because she fudges with the thermostat.
I wish we had those old school round ones (reminds me of a certain episode of Fawlty Towers) where you set it and forget it ronco style, but no. She had to get super digital touch screen thermostats with "schedules" and where "cool" can mean "fan" and "auto" can mean "manual".
The worst part about it is that when I asked if she messed with the thermostat again, she flipped out on me, and I still haven't received an apology. I don't expect one, but I deserve one.
This is one of those times where you shut the fu-- up and keep the occurrence in your back pocket. One day I'll be able to say "Oh? I'm wrong? What about when you blew up at me about the thermostat when you were 100% in the wrong?". When you're in a relationship, always keep the "I told you sos" in your back pocket. You use them immediately, and you lose 'em.
Frown: NO one who is not married or is under twenty should read the next few posts. NSFW, and it could ruin your adult life. I'm being serious on this one. Please heed my warning.

I read that anyway, while eating, and am unphased.

I read it and wish Luke the best of luck.AppleQueso wrote:I read that anyway, while eating, and am unphased.
Luke, please, please, do your best to make sure the kid's first words are "Sweep the leg."

I should have phrased my double negative better.Ack wrote:

First words should be "Use the force", or anything in a deep James Earl Jones voice. My last name will die off the face of the USA if I don't have a son (or a weird daughter who keeps her last name after marriage). I'm the last of my lineage, so that also puts some pressure on me.

I heeded the warnings, but based on Apple and Ack's replies, one can only assume your wife is preggers with a karate instructor. Hopefully...you teach karate?
Also - thermostat, you do know you can get those old round ones and install it? They cost less than half the price, will last 50 years, and install in 5 minutes. Just uninstall the current one (cut power to your heaters first, the thermostas themselves are low voltage, but still best to have power off). Find out if you have one pole or two pole wiring, and then buy the appropriate thermostat.

Did you switch brains with Diablo Cody? Please never, ever say "preggers" again.mjmjr25 wrote:I heeded the warnings, but based on Apple and Ack's replies, one can only assume your wife is preggers with a karate instructor. Hopefully...you teach karate?

And nah, the wife unfortunately isn't pregnant.
Two pole, and the thermostat has already been changed. My wife loves the fancy ones, and she is the boss. Maybe one day I can just say "XBOX. Set temp to 78" and be done with it.

"Are you sure? Based on our calculated temperatures, you should set temp to 81. Shall I proceed with 81?"AppleQueso wrote:Only after you watch these adsLuke wrote:Maybe one day I can just say "XBOX. Set temp to 78" and be done with it.
