The thing about it tho, it's not just the same game only with HD graphics. If the only difference was the bump from 480 to 1080, I wouldn't really care. I have no problem with the way my Wii looks (GCN or Wii games) via component cables on my HDTV. Of course, full HD would be better, but I can still enjoy 480i/p (although I would pay good money for an HD version of Xenoblade Chronicles - that idea might even deserve its own thread).Violent By Design wrote:I kind of agree with the person who said Windwaker doesn't look that much different in HD. Windwaker for Gamecube looks so pretty still, I doubt it would make much of a difference if you played the new version. I don't care for Zelda personally, so I can't vouch if another person who isn't a fan of 3D Zelda would like it.
Anyway, it looks like the Wii U HD remake will be the definitive version of Wind Waker. It wont just be a cut n paste. It'll make use of the new U controller. You can mess with inventory and view maps on the controller screen. I got into the 3DS and enjoy having that second screen. HUD that would typically take up screen space can be on the second screen and/or things that you would have to press pause to view. Another thing, I've heard that a major complaint with the game was the sailing. You can sail 50% faster in the remake. There's also some kind of Miiverse integration which I don't really care about.

But yeah, point is, it's not simply an HD version of the same game. This might be just what I need. I was never able to get into Wind Waker for some reason (not that I'm a big fan of the 3D Zeldas) and I've made several attempts. Although it's not toward the top of my list, I'm kinda pumped for it.
