Summer Game Challenge 2013 - Begin when ready!

So MediEvil is actually tough...but in that "fight with the camera and movement" way not "smart level design and clever AI" way. This one, though charming, might be a bust

Are you playing on the Vita or on the PSP? I wonder if you could map the camera to the right stick or something if you were playing Vita?dsheinem wrote:So MediEvil is actually tough...but in that "fight with the camera and movement" way not "smart level design and clever AI" way. Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Re: Summer Game Challenge 2013 - Begin when ready!
Sat down with some Bubble Bobble this evening and powered through 50 more levels. I'm just credit feeding to be honest, I have no intention of trying to do it all in one go (and based on the amount of lives I'm losing it'd be a LONG time before I could
). Not sure if I like this game or not. It's fairly fun, but the physics feel odd and clunky, some of the levels feel incredibly cheap in their design and the music, whilst catchy and fun at first, is starting to drive me up the fucking wall. But at the same time, I kept meaning to stop, and just going back for one more go.
Picked up at level 18, which is where my most recent password was for (I played it a little back in March) and got up to level 65 before I called it quits.
The Master System version seems a bit different. I knew it had 100 extra unlockable levels after level 100, but I didn't realise it had boss fights (other than super drunk I mean). I already took on one boss, who was a giant version of the robed enemies that shoot magic. It was easy enough, grab a cross, blast fire at him til he died.

Thinking of replacing something in the list with an F-Zero game. I've never beaten any of them and I feel like it's about time I give it a shot. What F-Zero should I play and what should I swap out from my list?
1. Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES)
2. Chrono Trigger (SNES)
3. Sonic the Hedgehog (Gen)
4. The Legend of Zelda (NES)
5. Super Mario Kart (SNES)
6. Double Dragon (NES)
7. Metroid Prime (GC)
8. Tetris Attack (SNES)
9. Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (PS2)
10. Duck Tales (NES)

I'd get rid of Tetris Attack. But I hate Panel de Pon, so I'm biased. (Can you 'beat' it though?)kelsoanim wrote:Thinking of replacing something in the list with an F-Zero game. Play the F-Zero on GCN... um which one is it? The one that was developed by Sega. It's generally considered the fan fav I believe.

I would ditch Double Dragon. It has its place, but I think there are better beat em ups more worthy of your time.kelsoanim wrote:what should I swap out from my list?
But, as noise said about his suggestion, I too am biased. I've never been a fan of double dragon, despite my love for the genre. I just don't enjoy the game very much. At all.

Double Dragon II is great though. And River City Ransom. And Mighty Final Fight. And even Renegade makes me happy.CFFJR wrote: I would ditch Double Dragon. It has its place, but I think there are better beat em ups more worthy of your time.
Re: Summer Game Challenge 2013 - Begin when ready!
I was planning to play through both Double Dragons at some point, so I put the first one on there to get it out of the way. I also spent a lot of time playing the game when I was a kid so that went into putting it on the list.
That said, Double Dragon is probably the one I'm least excited about so I may swap that out for F-Zero GX. GX is awesome and probably the coolest, but it also seems like the hardest. I don't think I'll be beating the Story mode any time soon. If we're just counting Grand Prix then I think I could do it.

Re: Summer Game Challenge 2013 - Begin when ready!
just a clarification. Although I put "Dracula X," I found a game save to unlock the original Rondo of Blood on PSP, so I'll be playing that version instead. Now it'll be an entirely new experience to me - and one I'm very excited about.noiseredux wrote:![]()
EDIT: And I can see I've made the right decision. Got up to the 2nd boss (werewolf) and incredible... this game is just incredible. SO funny that the remake dropped so much of what makes this original game so good.
