Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I'm very much a goofball, and I turned 33 on 5/20.

Every sitcom has that episode where they are negotiating way out of boundaries, only to be super surprised? Example:

"I'll pay you Five for this"

'I was thinking more around ten'

"I think Five Thousand is more than enough"

'*gulp* Did you say five....thousand...Um yeah, I can work with that"

I struck gold like that during my salary negotiations. My pitch was "I will accept a lower salary if I can keep a percentage of the total revenue I make (not total income, revenue). This an incentive for both of us, and will keep the entire company on its toes. If I don't succeed, I'm out big time but if I do what I know will happen my co-workers will work harder".

I expected an offer of a percentage of a percentage. The first offer was 2.5%, I talked them into 5% of revenue.

I'm not moving to Aruba or buying a yacht; if anything I'm going to focus on a new career or getting another degree.

In any event, her thrift store and yard sale finds always put mine to shame. I get really excited if I find a $20+ game for $5, but she regularly find $250+ antiques for that price... :? My theory is that she finds more good deals because it takes a lot more work and a much more discerning eye to recognize a valuable antique.

My wife basically runs away from me at full speed whenever I pull out my ....wait for it...

Blacklight and magnifying glass when inspecting antiques. I also ask "Can I take this outside to see it in sunlight?" if in a store. I'd rather look like a weird-o than waste money.

I'm in tech school for USAF Security Forces. In late August or September I'll either start doing police work or guarding nukes on an AF base. If I get deployed my job will be either to guard something or to act as light infantry supplementing the Army or Marines. There's a lot of BS to put up with (for example, 12 people screwed up this weekend. The whole squadron is being punished together for it), but it still beats working retail.
