This is a hack of SMB3, right?

Just guessing based on the scrolling artifacts on the right side.

This is a hack of the pirate game Super Mario World for the Famicom.

Whether it was created from SMB3 or something else, I don't know.

I meant the original pirate game, not the palette hack.

It's just that it has the exact same scrolling artifacts as SMB3. I know exactly why it happens (horizontal mirroring to accommodate the 4 way scrolling in some stages, and stuff like the bobbing of the doomships), but other games have similar setups and handle the artifacting differently.

So yeah, just a guess. Wouldn't be surprised though.

Yeah, if I had to bet money, I'd bet it's a hack of SMB3. I've never played it extensively, and I haven't played it in a while now, but IIRC the physics didn't feel exactly like SMB3. So the pirates didn't just do a graphics hack, it feels like they did a very in depth hack (if it is indeed a hack of SMB3).

It's not a hack. Hummer Team created 'Super Mario World' for the NES from scratch.
