we've all been speaking the same language for about 15,000 years!
this article says that there are base words for many languages that have changed very little over the generations.
Words that we still use today were spoken a looong time ago!

Nooooo! That article is full of shit. It was done by non-experts, published in a journal not known for it's quality when it comes to linguistics (and other fields as well), and is entirely wrong.
