Sure there's plenty of disappointment to be had, but it's not like we haven't seen great movie adaptions of villains.Luke wrote:Dylan wrote:For what it's worth, I also really didn't like how they handled the character.
I thought O-Pac was being sarcastic.
What was the last movie you've seen?

I wasn't disappointed a bit, nor was the audience I saw it with.

Which is why we can't have nice thingsLuke wrote:I wasn't disappointed a bit, nor was the audience I saw it with.
Really though, I'm not saying that it's a fundamentally disappointing character. If I had no investment in or hopes for the character I probably would have enjoyed it. I'm just disappointed that I got something completely out of the range of what I was reasonably hoping for.

Waaah waaah waaah.
Let's talk about the way that the I Robot movie shits all over Isaac's grave shall we?
Note I have read the book, which is a collection of short stories, but not seen the movie because it has so little to do with it I have no desire to see it.

In the comics, yes. In the movie, yes, but in a different way.Luke wrote:The Mandarin IS special.BurningDoom wrote:

Darth Vader wasn't a comic book character made into a movie character.

Who cares if the source material is from a comic? So because it's from a comic rather than somewhere else, the characters somehow mean less? Characters that have endured for well over 40 years?
Then let's not say Darth Vader. What if Voldermort or Saruman was made into some useless drunks? Would you enjoy that?
