Saw another two films yesterday.
The first one was Fargo, which I really wanted to watch after having so much fun with Fiasco, a roleplayig game that simulates that kind of films. It's a good film and I was very open to it but I never went before a smile or a snicker, it would have left me cold were I a little less receptive. Perhaps I expected something funnier or nastier or more sardonic.
Then I finally decided to watch Wreck-it Ralph which I found mediocre and bland. Yet another film where an animated outsider wants to be accepted by people who are, by all means, a bunch of douchebags. This premise is especially undermined by the complete lack of phatos in the main character, we never know how he feels like, we are just told by the screenwriter. I never felt Ralph had any emotions and the rest of the cast were barely characters.
The videogame idea is also really thin, there are no themes taken from what is a very colorful world and what little there was was soon abandoned in favor of a candy-themed world.
It only got a snicker out of me: The badass Samus-clone, being female, has the most tragic past. Found that very sardonic.
