I'm beginning to think 2013 may be the start of a new golden age of gaming.

I'd like to see anything Felix the cat.
Both the shows and the game get overlooked far too often. I kept saying "I want to see Epic Felix" when Epic Mickey came out. :(

I am very excited about this. I still have my original Castle of Illusion and Quackshot for the Genesis, but I still WANT to get an update as well.

Quackshot would be amazing as a continuing series as well...fingers crossed.

With Castle of Illusion, just think about the clock level man....that would look even more awesome as a graphically revamped level.

Can't wait for a Castle of Illusion remake, but a Quackshot remake would be so amazing! I have such great memories playing both games back in the day. I need to get a Genesis and rebuy all the great Sega Disney games...

I had just started playing Land of Illusion for Master System when I saw this thread, after finishing Castle of Illusion a few months back. Some of the Disney games of that era are excellent. I'm going to have a look at the Mega Drive Mickey games after that. I may even one day play this remake!

As much as we've complained in the past about games going digital, the digital space is really opening up some amazing opportunities that didn't exist prior to this gen, games coming out that we thought never would, remakes of games nobody has talked about in years, and brand new games with a retro flavor. Some of my favorite 2012 games were digital titles.

But why is that a bad thing? Especially here where we're a retro community? Shouldn't we all be happy about these instead of complaining?
But...why remake Castle of Illusion? It already looks gorgeus! I don't see whay a remake would add to it.

A new perspective, 2.5D graphics, extra stages or areas, maybe even extra playable characters. Who knows. Kind of hard to judge the game before it comes out.

I'd rather a new game with retro-inspired mechanics or design philosophies than a remake.

In other words, I'll take Mega Man 9 or the "Rebirth" series over something like Mega Man Powered Up any day.

Well yeah, I'd rather see Castle of Illusion II than a remake, as well. But I'm not gonna complain about remake, either. And I'm sure I'll enjoy the remake if it's done well.

Maybe if it does do well, it will lead to a retro-sequel.
