they are blamming Q*bert for real world violence. i think the site is mainly supposed to be a joke. (i hope)
First of all, darn you for encouraging me go to that place again.

Secondly, they are doing it for the hits.

Thirdly, if you click the 'last investigative report' link provided in that article, linking you to a similar article about Donkey Kong being the reason for a war between gorillas and plumbers, I'm sure you'll get the gist.
The articles are to make a point to people who say video games play a big part of violence.

Personally, I'd say video games do play a part. Pretty much everything media-related plays at least a small part in instigating violent crimes. However, I believe it is unfair to base it on any one, single factor; it's ultimately the peoples' fault they are stupid.

the only thing the media has done is proagandized you into believing everything media related causes violent crimes.

The kids at columbine didn't shoot up the school because they listened to marilyn manson or played doom. that is a ridiculous assumption.

Apologies if I was unclear, but that is contrary to what I was trying to convey.

As said, I believe it is unreasonable to base such a thing on one, single factor. Ultimately it is not anything other than the person's own stupidity that caused it.
However, I believe it is reasonable to say something else could have instigated the crimes.

Yeah I definitely don't believe they were being serious. But those were both funny articles. Say what you want, but I spent a good two hours checking out that site today. It seems like half of it written to cause controversy and annoy people and half is geniunely funny. Too bad they can't stick to the funny stuff. the rest of it makes them come off as arrogant know-it-alls.

So I checked out there website and quickly noticed they really don't like the Sega. But I found it really funny when I read their top 5 worst consoles:

5 - Virutal Boy
Saturn
Dreamcast
32x
1- Genesis

This made me scratch my head for a second. But eh, they aren't Sega fans... I get it... they're being funny.

That wasn't what made me laugh though...
In very simple terms, the Sega Genesis was the kid from school who tried to be cool, but everyone knew he was a loser. There was often talk of “Console Wars” between The Sega Genesis and the SNES, but we are sure that the SNES knew nothing about it. Again, its like a kid at school who wants to be cool trying to start a war with someone cooler, and the cooler kid having no idea who the loser was in the first place.
...

I think the humour is rather evident.

yeah they are quite funny sometimes. it seems like the sega hate is more of a running gag than anything else. i mean can anyone really HATE a system that much? i doubt it.

I agree. Reason I kept visiting, and the reason I stopped, is as you said.
Problem is, more often than not, their writings are made just to cause controversy, and even though they try always to add a humorous tone to it, they tend to get caught up in it.

I felt there was too much of the same. I lost interest with it.

Though, even if what they write isn't funny, as it is most always there to cause controversy, the intended audience occasionally have something funny to say.
