Finally watched this. Awesome. I love Tarantino's dialogue. My favorite scene has to be the lynch mob scene.
How many cameos did you notice?

Luke Duke
Russ and Amber Tamblyn
Bruce Dern
Zoe Bell
Michael Parks
Lee Horsley
Robert Carradine
James Remar
Tom Savini
...and there were probably others.
The one that surprised me was fat Jonah Hill.

I wonder how many takes that scene required. When I saw Django in the theater, I was definitely in the minority, and it was a bit surprising to see a mostly African American audience laugh at a bumbling lynch mob. QT gets a pass on a ton of shit...good on him.

GI JOE RETALIATION

Well. It's better than the first one so it has that going for it. The fighting scenes are fairly solid, and as always ninjas are cool. And there you have it.

If you want to spend your cash on a movie that is a bit better than the first GI JOE and think ninjas are cool, Retaliation is for you. But don't expect much more from the movie than just that.

All the cartoon was were firefights, explosions, and ninja battles. So it sounds perfect for a G.I. Joe fan.

But... PSAs and knowing was half the battle. How can you leave those out of your description?

I've been waiting for Retaliation 'cause I absolutely love how they ended Rise Of Cobra:
Cobra actually succeeded in replacing the president and getting their man inside the white house, so the Joes won the battle but lost the war and they don't even know it.
That's the most awesome sequel setup I've seen in years.

I saw this earlier today, they also had a link to a different int'l trailer. I think this looks great. We'll see, of course.

The Day After

They did a fairly good job despite being limited by budget and technology. No ideology is worth a nuclear holocaust. Not the best film of its kind but it's up there with the most notable titles.
