Pardon my french but... what the fuck? Even if you don't like these games you have to acknowledge that there are far worse games.

I also thought Desert Strike, Paperboy, Jurassic Park (note how the punk didn't name which version), Joust and Elevator Action were also decent for their time. Why are we giving this prick attention again?

Spot on. When I saw that in their list, I closed the webpage. Anyone who mentions Resident Evil 4 as being overrated, is an idiot in my book.

God, on a thread about overrated games you had to bring that up. Half life brought nothing new except maybe a bunch of scripted events. It's multiplayer was shabby at best, and when it came down to it the single player was more frustrating than fun... i think we have a thread right now about the shitty boss design. The game was improved in op forces, and vastly improved in hl2, but the original still remains one of the most overrated games in my opinion.

Eh...? Wow...that's actually the first time I've ever heard complaints about Half-Life, beyond not liking the Xen stages.

want to know why I think half life is the best fps ever? ok I havn't tried it's multi player so I'm only going to speak about single player.

In the year 2003 or 2004 (can't remember exactly) I tried Halo on pc. I kept reading how great a game it was everywhere and I expected a pretty fun game. I found it booooooooooooooooooooring to hell (my biggest gripe being you could only carry 2 weapons. WTF? I know it's realistic but it's a game ffs anyway). Now I never was a fan of FPS games with the only one I had beaten being Red Faction on the PC. And I said that's it no more single player fps for me (I loved unreal tournament 2004 though).


But come the year 2006, close to christmas I was browsing through the pc section and saw half life 2+half lifesource + counterstrike source for a measly 15 euro and I said what the heck let's try it. And I played a 7 year old game (half life 1) and loved it. I loved it. That's why I consider it the best FPS out there. Cause it made me like a genre I wouldn't touch before. I'm not sure exactly what I liked so much in Half Life 1 (yeah I can tell you what I liked in 2) but the only sure thing is that I loved it

I would have to say half life is a bit overrated. But so was halo 1.
Sure they're great games but you talk to some people and they just about mess their pants. I love the halo series but would not consider halo the best fps ever.

as for their list I can see a few points in there, but that's as much as I will give them.
The articles I've read from there,some are funny but just can't take the site seriously.
It's like the Maddox of video games.

Gotta' admit, if I were to make a 'Top 10 Games I Don't Like as Much as Everybody Else' list... chances are, Counter Strike would be on it.

Personally, I thought most of the games on Old-Wizard's worst list were OK, but no more, no less.

I just checked out the site. The list is pretty stupid. looks like they're just trying to get hits. but the article they posted today made me laugh my ass off.
