Edit: I read the guide and it states that it doesn't affect the chip if you are trying a&b.
Another question.
I have a model 2 32 pin Saturn. I placed solder in between a and b, connected everything. The power wire I jammed into the power slot. The system boots up but the usual Saturn logo that appears with the sounds and moving background doesn't show. It simply shows a static 2d image of the logo and goes to the main menu area. When it reaches the main menu it says checking disc and the cd drive doesn't sound like its moving. I put in both real game and a backup and both won't boot.
After trying for a bit I removed the chip and tried the Saturn with everything default. It booted up normally and everything worked fine, the real game booted all the way. Now tomorrow I'm actually going to try soldering into the power supply area, hopefully I don't destroy my Saturn by doing this.
