And its on the Saturn? Hmm, I'm not sure on that one. I know Lords of Thunder sounds like it fits that, but its on the Sega CD and Turbografx.
Was it vertical or horizontal scrolling?

I have Lords of Thunder, so I know it's not that. BTW, Lords of Thunder is like my all-time favorite shoot-em up. Such an awesome soundtrack.dunpeal2064 wrote:And its on the Saturn? It was horizontal. I remember seeing it in a YouTube video, then instantly wanting it.

Aren't all of these "old games" available for download?

Not legally (some of them). And without getting into a discussion on ethics or laws, I'm just gonna say simply: I don't pirate.Luke wrote:Aren't all of these "old games" available for download?

Re: What Are Some Old Games You Never Got To Play?
Lords of Thunder is so awesome.
Dang, this is going to bother me now, as I spent a good time with the Saturn shmup library.
The only ones I can think of that come close to fitting that description are:
Sol Divide
Sengoku Blade
Hyper Duel
Oh, and as far as old games I never got to play:
Earthbound: I really need to play through this. I've played up to Fourside, but lost my data. I loved what I had played of it, but I didn't feel like playing through the game up to that point again after just losing my saves.
Ultima series: I've always had an interest in this series, but just had no idea where to start. I have the 3rd game for the NES, but had a hard time getting into it, and since I never did much PC gaming, I was always just keeping an eye out for ports.
Dragon Quest series: Another series I have always wanted to try, and up until Bone gave me some direction, I had no idea where to start, or which versions of the game to play. Now I'm attempting to play through the first game, so at least I'm getting around to this one.
Breath of Fire series: Dabbled in the first one a bit, but its a series I've always wanted to sit down with. It just seems like something I would love, but for some reason I have never played through any of them.
Shadow of the Collosus: Loved Ico, but never had the chance to play this one. Quite a shame, as it looks great
Mass Effect series, Lost Planet series, Dead Space series, Bioshock series: Just got back into modern gaming, and all of these look quite intereting, and I've played little to none of each.
There are a ton of other RPGs and modern games I want to try, but since they usually require some time dedication, I am usually hesitant to jump in to too many at once.

I want to get into Zelda, Metroid and Mario on the Wii but I'm always prioritising games on other platforms

Re: What Are Some Old Games You Never Got To Play?
I remember the Tomb Raider games were very popular among my friends, but for some reason, it never caught my attention.[Fast Forward>>] I tried playing the game last week on the saturn....still cant play it, too clunky and boring

Arpuhguh? Fffpiss? Bah!
"Shmup" is far more elegant!
Re: What Are Some Old Games You Never Got To Play?
I only played TR2 and indeed it got boring pretty quick. The new TR is better than the entire series combined.

Re: What Are Some Old Games You Never Got To Play?
Games I never got to play...well, there's a lot. Didn't have many games as a kid. If I had to single out a couple it would be:
*Resident Evil (GCN)
Played it last year and OMG it was amazing. Great classic RE gameplay and atmosphere with dome new details added in.
*Chrono Trigger
Always heard good things, finally got the PS1 port years ago and played it on my BC 60Gb PS3 (RIP) and loved it. Truly lives up to the hype.
*Paper Mario and Paper Mario TTYD
Just played them both and Super Paper Mario a couple months ago and can easily say its one of my favorite series now. The humorous dialogue, gameplay, and overall silliness of these adventures just make me grin from ear to ear. I have Sticker Star which is supposedly quite divisive but I'll get around to it at some point.
