Uh Yeah. And this with Norton already installed?SamuraiMegas wrote:My dad forced me to get the paid version of norton. I didn't want it, but I use it anyways. I noticed I had a shitload of cookies that were level 5 on SpyBot. Could the tons of them have anything to do with it?CRTGAMER wrote:First thing is get rid of Norton, it acts as bad as Spyware at times. Make sure you reboot (hard reset) and run Spybot or whatever other utilities you have in your arsenal in Safe Mode after you download all the updates. Good luck.SamuraiMegas wrote:Doing a full system scan with norton right now, downloading SpyBot.
Show that to your Dad at the risk of getting grounded from the PC. Stay away from the obvious sites that did this, remove Norton and be sure to turn on Spybot SD Resident. It is sooooo much friendlier then Norton, works in the background unlike Norton pestering you all day long.

Here's a question: Have you ever cleaned your computer? This goes double if it makes a lot of noise.
Overheating is the most common cause of BSOD

The more anti-spyware stuff you download, the more you're mucking up your pc.
Here's the part where I'm a hypocrite:
ComboFix is awesome. You run it, ley it work its magic, and then delete it.
