Racketboy - Rate my GOLF collection

I have previously recommended Mario Golf (GBC) to you. It is a perfect game, and I (obviously) hold it in very high regard. The Hot Shots golf games are a lot of fun, and my roommates and I spent a tremendous amount of time with Hot Shots Golf 3 when I was in college. (Hot Shots Golf 3 + four players + Jack Johnson album + beer = perfect lazy Sunday afternoon.) Since they are all pretty cheap, I now have all four Hot Shots Golf games, but I still spend the most time with Hot Shots Golf 3.

Doing some research...I just discovered that Camelot Software Planning, the developer of Mario Golf, also developed the original Hot Shots Golf. (Apparently, the sequels were developed by another studio.) Accordingly, I may have to spend some more time with that game. (I apparently also need to pick up We Love Golf for the Wii. It was developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Capcom. Moreover, you can dress your characters like Ryu, Chun Li, Arthur, etc....I am definitely adding it to my want list.)

I enjoy the Hot Shots Golf series - definitely worth checking out and they are relatively inexpensive.

Or just mini-golf. But man oh man is this a great game. I highly recommend this game.

That's a lot of golf!

Hot Shots is great fun as is the Super Swing Golf series for Wii. If you like Pangya golf (goofy Japanese golf) you'll love it. My all-time favorite golf game is Swing Away Golf for PS2. I rented it back in 2001 when Hot Shots was out because it was the only other golf game available. As it turns out, it's pretty awesome. It's like Super Swing/Pangya but the silliness is toned down a lot and it feels like a light hearted sim. It has fun yearly calendar with tournaments and all sorts of fun challenges to help you level up you character and earn money to buy better equipment.

Outlaw Golf is awful but has its charm. Not a bad experiment if you want to try something new. I was never a Tiger Woods fan but I enjoy TW 2010 for the Wii. It's pretty addictive.

I can't say that I've ever heard of anyone into collecting golf games before. Keep us posted as you add to the collection.

If you have interest in mini golf, Mini-Putt is really fun on C64. Maybe other versions are good too. I just picked up 3D Ultra Minigolf for PC, but haven't tried it yet.

I know it's a bit more expensive, but Top Players' Golf for AES is actually pretty decent as well. I only mention it because I think you have one, correct?

Tee Off for DC was fun, too. Definitely had a Hot Shots feel to it.

I also think Kirby's Dream Course is an excellent game as well.

I do have an AES, yes. I've never heard of that game though - I have heard of Turf Masters, which as I recall is insanely expensive.

I can't remember, do you have a Vita? Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational is pretty darn good, IMO.

Also, weren't you professing your love for Neo Geo in one of the NGP threads? Where's the Turf Masters?

Complete copies sell for like 50-60 bucks on ebay, so I'm sure you could get one for a decent price if you look around.
