Arpuhguh? Fffpiss? Bah!
"Shmup" is far more elegant!

Infinite Undiscovery, still a Xbox 360 Exclusive, not sure if any good...AppleQueso wrote:360 had a handful of exclusive JRPGs early on. Lost Odyssey and all that, but most of them eventually made it over to PS3 anyway.
Definitely glad I went with a Ps3 over a 360 though.
Also, Valkyria Chronicles can still be had for $20 new, buy it now before its too late! but could of been over-printed easily.
Another game thats coming to PS3 that is also on the Xbox 360 is ArcaniA: Game of the Year Edition, but didnt it flop on the 360? why they bringing it to the PS3 now?

I couldn't agree more I also enjoyed them both on a nice HDTV and it's stunning!!Gamerforlife wrote: RPGS
Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 - People can hate on modern FF games all they want. I think these two games introduced one of the most exciting, fun, and cinematic combat systems in the genre. Both games also set a high watermark for how beautiful and artistic a game can look in this HD generation, especially on the most powerful HD console.

That is a steal with the amount of content that game has, not even including all the quality DLC. I actually have two copies myself, one sealed and one I've put lots of hours into playing. I don't do sealed collecting often, just for stuff I really love. I have sealed copies of Sly 3 and The Red Star too.Hazerd wrote:

One other thing I want to say about Valkyria Chronicles, it is one of the most accessible strategy rpgs I can think of. VC and Jeanne D'Arc on the PSP are good games for newbies to the genre. VC especially, as it doesn't have the trappings of your usual strategy rpg. It looks nothing like your Disgaeas, or your Fantasy Tactics style games, more like an anime style third person shooter. It does a good job of easing players into things by showing them the ropes early on, and giving them some freedom to approach later missions how they choose once they get comfortable with the system
It never ceased to amaze me how beautiful everything looked while running aroundDakinggamer87 wrote:I couldn't agree more I also enjoyed them both on a nice HDTV and it's stunning!!Gamerforlife wrote: RPGS

Square has always been at the forefront of putting out some of the most amazing looking games in the industry.

Re: What PS3 games need to be looked at?
Xbox 360 had a couple of cool JRPG exclusives like Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia. PS3 is certainly the better JRPG platform though.Gamerforlife wrote: If we could sum up one of the biggest differences this gen between the PS3 and 360
PS3 has cool Japanese rpgs
360 has cool Western rpgs....that you can also play on PC
Most of the "big" Western RPGs (Dragon Age, Oblivion/Skyrim, Fallout 3) were released on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Some of the more obscure ones (Arcania, Risen, Two Worlds) are PC and 360 only.

Would love to get my hands on a sealed copy of the HOLO Cover Darksiders 1st print, was my 1st PS3 game and with the most trophies.Gamerforlife wrote: I actually have two copies myself, one sealed and one I've put lots of hours into playing. Re: What PS3 games need to be looked at?
Well I'll be including some multiplatform titles, working on the assumption that someone who only owns a PS3 (Of the modern gen systems at least) might come across this thread/list. But, for sake of clarity, I'll put an "Ex" next to the exclusive titles.
Firstly, RPG's, the genre this system is without a doubt best at. And I think most people will associate RPG's with the PS3 as well.
Demon's Souls (Ex)
Dark Souls
Valkyria Chronicle's (Ex)
Dragon Age: Origin's
Mass Effect Trilogy
Fallout 3
Fallout: New Vegas
Next, everything else. Shooter's, action games, adventure titles. All high quality, but I think they're more here to fill in the gaps of a good PS3 collection, rather than be the basis of the collection itself.
Metal Gear Solid 4 (Ex)
Catherine
Ico and SotC HD Collection (Ex)
MGS HD Collection
Devil May Cry 4
Lollipop Chainsaw
Dead Space
Flower (Ex)
The Walking Dead
Honorable mentions. I have not played these games yet personally, but I've either heard a lot of really good things about them or (In most cases) thought they looked good enough to buy but haven't found the time to play them yet.
Resonance of Fate (Ex)
3D Dot Game Heroes (Ex)
Resident Evil 6
Hyperdimension Neptunia (Ex)
The Atelier series. (Ex)

Actually, from what I've heard, Infinite Undiscovery is a very hated game even among big JRPG fans. I borrowed it from a friend once and played for about fifteen minutes or so. The sound kept cutting out in cutscenes and eventually the game froze during a fight. Though that isn't necessarily a problem with the game as a whole, as I never bothered to find out if the disc my friend had was scratched or not.Hazerd wrote:Infinite Undiscovery, still a Xbox 360 Exclusive, not sure if any good...AppleQueso wrote:360 had a handful of exclusive JRPGs early on. I would recommend Siren: Blood Curse, if you live in the United States your going to have to import it.

Re: What PS3 games need to be looked at?
I saw that on Amazon the other day and was shocked. I didn't think that anyone actually played that. What even makes it Game of the Year? Must have had a DLC expansion pack at some point...Hazerd wrote: Another game thats coming to PS3 that is also on the Xbox 360 is ArcaniA: Game of the Year Edition, but didnt it flop on the 360? why they bringing it to the PS3 now?
