What PS3 games need to be looked at?

They could always opt for the Journey Collector's Edition.

There were some solid JRPGs: 3D Dot Game Heroes, Eternal Sonata (more content than the Xbox 360 version), Hyperdimension Neptunia, Tales of Graces F, and Valkyria Chronicles would be my top picks.

I suppose one can make mention of all the HD re-releases. This is really the first time in gaming history I've seen such a strong emphasis on DVD style double dipping. We've seen some HD re-releases on the 360 too, but the PS3 definitely had the most of them. While I don't like them as just cash grabs, releases like the Ico/Shadow of Colossus Collection are very notable, as this is the first time we got a complete, unchanged version of Ico in the US, AND the proper box art.

So I guess you can add the The Ico/SOTC collection to my list of must play PS3 games.

If these were just straight ports without any enhancements at all, I might get the double-dip analogy, but these are no more a double dip than a movie previously on DVD being re-released on Blu Ray.

When I think of double dipping, I just think of a DVD being re-released with maybe some slightly different cover art and one or two new extras.

If we could sum up one of the biggest differences this gen between the PS3 and 360

PS3 has cool Japanese rpgs

360 has cool Western rpgs....that you can also play on PC

360 had a handful of exclusive JRPGs early on. Lost Odyssey and all that, but most of them eventually made it over to PS3 anyway.

Definitely glad I went with a Ps3 over a 360 though.

Yeah, I like how Sony keeps supporting Japanese stuff. Sure, you can find some of that stuff on the 360, but for the most part the Xbox is not a home for fans of Japanese games.
