I actually played through it the first several times through this version, but I absolutely cannot go back to it at all after playing on the PC though. Trust me I don't have favorites for FPS's on consoles or PC and it's more dependable on the game for me, but yeah. The framerate, resolution, the controls (managing an inventory system, etc), saving, loading, etc, are just vastly superior on the PC version. I think the biggest thing is simply this, the first stage/map in the game, Liberty Island, is one seamless large map on the PC version. This level is broken up into about 4-5 chunks in the PS2 version, so there's loading screens everywhere and it's like this well throughout the PS2 release with all the maps.prfsnl_gmr wrote:How does the PS2 version of Deus Ex compare to its PC counterpart? The PS2 version DOES have slightly improved character models and brand new CGI cutscenes for the intro and endings though, but at this point you could just youtube them. That's about all it has over the PC release. It also manually inputs door passwords when you've found the data/keycards in game though, whereas on the PC you have to check your notes and manually input them, which feels a tiny bit more immersive I guess, lol.
Play whatever you want and if you go in new with the PS2 version you can maybe still appreciate it, but yeah. No comparison for me anymore, haha.
The sad news is that too bad the Invisible War / Thief Deadly Shadows engine sucks so much, it's got loading screens around every corner regardless of what platform you're on. But those games are another discussion... haha.
But yeah definitely one thing I enjoyed about Human Revolution, yay for big maps again.
