Not much interaction, but i think it makes it more romantic and sad love.

prfsnl_gmr: I love the FF8 love story. Rinoa is the catalyst for the change in Squall. Ever listen to the Piano Collections for the game? If not, give Eyes on Me a listen, it's probably my favorite rendition of that song.

AznKhmerBoi: Such a bittersweet story. Every time I play through Shenmue you can't help but empathize with the understanding of two people in love where you know it just isn't meant to work out...and if they'll ever meet up again.

What about the tales of romance in Double Dragon, Dead or Alive, or Grand Theft Auto, to name a few?

I would have to agree, even though for 90% of the game Ryo doesn't seem to give a damn.
That changes on the cool "Hang-On" simulator that's terribly hard but then he gets down to the harbor to administer the beat downs.

Also, it gets better if you call her from your house every morning. Even though the messages repeat, it gets a lot more interesting between them.

I do have to say he seemed genuinely concerned that she was going abroad to study near the end of the game. Too bad there's no mention of her come Shenmue II at least I think so...

Aside from what's in the no. 1 spot, I kind of hate that list. Oh well, here are some pics of my faves. Let's see if you guys recognize them:

Anything from Enix's Terranigma / Soul series, but yes, Ico takes the cake.

Possibly PS3's Catharine (Reading spoilers and the game's cast sounds pretty... weird. Normal compared to a Suda game, but still weird.)
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Dante from Dante's Inferno has one of the most twisted love stories.

On that note i must also acknowledge, Super Ghost and Goblin!

"Shmup" is far more elegant!

Tatsumaru and Kagami from Tenchu 2, the perfect villainous love story.

On another note, greatest love triangles would be interesting to explore. Sometimes they are far more interesting and complex than your simple, two person love stories.

That's pretty much the entire point of Catherine.
