You'll be sorry to know that the goal amount is also the cap. So the Gold Classic Pack has a goal of 30,000 coins and that's the most amount of coins it'll count. I just reached the goal before and I actually got over 30,000 (I think my coin count was around 18,000 before doubling at the flag pole) but it'll only count up to 30,000.

This is good and bad at the same time. The obvious is why it's bad. You want to keep playing and try to get the highest score, but you can't exactly do that once you reach the "goal" that they set. But the good thing about it is it keeps you from reaching a million coins too fast.

I said before that I had a little over 100,000 coins. I played packs 1, 2 and 3 a couple times each and now I'm over 250,000. At this rate, I'll definitely hit a million WAY before I'm done with Coin Rush mode. But, it would be nice if it would count how many coins you actually got, beyond the set goal. Getting a million coins is one thing, but it doesn't stop counting there. You can max it out with all 9's LOL.

The SpotPass message I got was advertising that packs 9 and 10 are now available. It said in the message, "This will be the final round of downloadable course packs for New Super Mario Bros. 2. Thanks to those who purchased and played these packs!"

So... I guess that means they're not planning on making any more? There's 10 packs though, which is 30 levels. That's a lot to play, considering the high replayability of them all.

And oh my god, I didn't realize how much less battery you can use by turning the brightness down. I had it set to 5 (max) since I got it, and I just tried turning it down to 3 last night and have kept it there since. The battery last a ridiculous amount of time longer now.

Awwwww! That's slightly disappointing. It would be nice if at at least kept the *record* of the highest haul, even if you only get 30,000 towards your total coin total to keep you from busting the million coin barrier too soon. I'm glad to know that I was right about being able to achieve at least 35,000 though. :D

:D Love it. With the replayability of these levels, I wouldn't be surprised to get there eventually.

Noooooo! Right when Nintendo was getting diabolical with the hard levels! Gah!

I think I've had mine on brightness 2 or 3 the whole time -- max is just too bright. (This goes for most modern electronics with screens.) The extra battery life is just a bonus.

It's actually explained in the manual for the game which most people don't read, myself included.

Umm... My copy of the game didn't come with a physical manual. It had a digital manual that you could access on the 3DS. I read through it when I first got the game and I don't remember seeing anything about how to access the shop.

I actually found out from reading on the game's website (scroll to the brown and click the blue "how to buy" button). It says to access the shop, it must first be activated by a SpotPass notification. That's great, but then it took me some time before I realized that you only receive messages while the 3DS is in sleep mode.

Just bumping this for any one that is still unaware. I'll probably bump it a few more times before the promotion expires.

Working on getting the donwload now. I have to say though, this is one convoluted way to get a download going. It should be a bit easier or simply available in the eShop.

Yeah, getting them straight from the eShop would have avoided some confusion.

I'm glad I checked online, otherwise I would have never known there was DLC. I rarely leave my 3DS in sleep, and I never have WiFi on while it's sleeping, so I would have never gotten the SpotPass Notification.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to turn my 3DS off when it's not being used. I'm sure a lot of us wouldn't have known if you hadn't said something. So, thanks Ziggy
