Also, I got the PS3 controller working - however, Mame only seems to recognize the left analogue stick for directional input, and the select button for button A - can't even seem to find button B, or anything in the MameUI menus for mapping joystick buttons - as you can imagine, that makes for awkward playing

As of today, I'm pretty much stuck on Trouble Witches. Played it at PAX, and wondered why I never downloaded it in the first place - it's been out almost a year.

And, as always, a bit of Ikaruga from time to time.

Just got round to getting an xbox hard drive, so on Triggerheart excelcia (don't know why I don't have this for DC), Geometry wars (meh) and Galaga Legions - which is better than i expected; unusual mechanics, elements of strategy and bullet hell, just a pity it's not scrolling over a particularly interesting background, although I guess that's what makes it Galaga...

Triggerheart Exelica is always I plus. That usually falls into my usual DC rounds.

I recently upgraded my PSP firmware to this 3.asdjflsadfj whatever and got into playing PS1 games on it, so as of recent, I've been playin' some Strikers 1945.

for PSP try the cps2psp emulator - plays CPS2 arcade games like MARS MATRIX, Giga Wing, Progear and 1944 Loop Master, also a bunch of beat'em ups and fighters. The native aspect ratio for most of these games seems to be 4:3, so they don't look too bad on the PSP - also version 2.3.1 is much easier to use, as on my lite at least, you don't need to create cache files - just drop your roms in the correct folder:)

Been playing a bit of Mushihime-sama today, but i've really hit a brick wall as I can't seem to consistantly get to the 4th stage on 1credit. I've got stage 1 & 2 down now, but stage 3 is a real bitch and screws me up almost every time.

Also, I tried Progear for the first time today - o.O - is this the hardest Cave shmup in existance? I personally find the DDP series & Ibara more than difficult, but Progears combination of hundreds of little popcorn bullets & multi-directional bullet curtains is just evil. EVIL. Used about 14 credits completing it, so I can't see myself working that down to 1 credit, seems like far to much of a challenge

This week, let's see here. Been playing downloadable SHMUPs on Wii and Xbox 360. Triggerheart Excellica on XBLA, and Final Soldier and Star Soldier R on Wii. Thinking about getting Galaga Legions on 360 next time I have extra points. Just made a Japanese PSN account on my Playstation 3 and discovered they have a whole sub-catagory of PS1 downloadable games for Shmups. Once I have some money to order a Japanese points card for that, I will be downloading some of those for sure.

Have you looked up the price of Triggerheart Exelica on eBay? The XBLA version is $10, while eBay sellers are asking upwards of $130. The prices difference is likely similar over there. That's probably why you don't have it for the Dreamcast...
