"Shmup" is far more elegant!

What everyone else said.
All the RE's are pretty short and best enjoyed with multiple runs. CV and RE4 were the longer ones for me.

Re: Resident Evil 2 is too short!
Well for me every RE has been almost the same in terms of game time like around 10 hours (more in the first playthroug).
Like the rest said have played both discs? Resident 2 gives a good play time with the 2 discs system and if you have the dualshock edition you can play the extreme battle mode.

One of my favorite games of all time, and I never knew this. But then, I've never played it through 5 times.TEKTORO wrote:It's on the original release, 5th playthrough I believe.BurningDoom wrote:What's this Hunk story you speak of? First off all, I have the GC version and I played Clair's version first.
2) I did a quick search I found that playing with the 2 characters is not necessarily different, one will start with different items and have couple of different scenes, as 90% of the story is the same. Just as it was on RE1 (i did 2 playthroughs on that)
3) Since N64 is my favorite console, I thought I would do Clair on Gamecube and Leon on RE2
I also noticed there is arranged mode , which is basically the easiest mode in the game where you get all the weapons when you start the game but items are located in different places.
I do not know where the survivals mode is

There's A and B modes for each character. The game is normally "A" mode, and when you beat A mode with one character, you unlock "B" mode for the other.kingmohd84 wrote:First off all, I have the GC version and I played Clair's version first.

You're missing literally half the game if you don't bother with the other character's "B" mode. Since you played through as Claire, load the gamecube version up, pick Leon, and load your last file. Continue from there.
It's not like RE1 at all.
Re: Resident Evil 2 is too short!
It's OK, you missed half the game and the friendly folks here are just trying to help you out. Kind of like the people who play Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and complain how crap the ending is -- only to discover they missed the other 50% of the game.kingmohd84 wrote:First off all,

You don't see the true final boss until you play the B mode of one of the characters.
Maybe is just the RPD again but you start from a different place (in the B mode) with a different character seeing the events from his/her point of view , get diferent weapons and meet diferent characters.

I remeber that happening to me, spend 3 days for a way to open the that clock room before givin up and see a walkthough on the web... i felt really stupid because it was WAY too simple.irixith wrote: It's OK, you missed half the game and the friendly folks here are just trying to help you out. Re: Resident Evil 2 is too short!
@AppleQuesso
Thanks, i thought choosing between the two characters is equal to "normal, easy" difficulty and claire is the easy mode. That is how it was on RE1 at least.
I thought I would save Leon's campaign to play on the n64 . I didnt know I had to play the two characters on the same console to unlock the full game.
Ill think about playing Leon or just replay the whole thing on the 64 as I am biased for the 64.

I meant first OF all , I don't know if "first off all " might be understood as an insult as English is not my first language. Thanks for the tip.irixith wrote:It's OK, you missed half the game and the friendly folks here are just trying to help you out. Re: Resident Evil 2 is too short!
No, they're different stories. Leon plays through with Ada Wong tailing him as he figures out what exactly her deal is and what the hell happened in Raccoon City. While Claire plays through and looks for details as to where her brother Chris (from the first game) is at, and protects this little girl (Sherry) who ends up being the daughter to the some Umbrella scientists.kingmohd84 wrote:First off all, I have the GC version and I played Clair's version first.

And both of them have 2nd playthroughs that tell the other side of the story. Which are also different. That damn trenchcoated bastard in Claire's 2nd playthrough will keep your nerves on edge the entire time.
