)Basically the excitement I had for this game (despite the aesthetic and character changes) dwindled a good deal when I played the demo at E3 and the combat felt slow, dragged on, and wasn't up to the standards of the poorer games in the series (2 and 4) let alone the best games in the series (3 and 1).
On the other hand, the glowing reviews indicate that there's a lot here to like and that in the release build the combat is very fluid and challenging. But maybe the reviewers aren't veterans of the series? I don't know.
I'm leaning towards just pikcing this up tomorrow anyway and giving it a go. I don't often buy games on release day. but I think I will make an exception with this one.
(I won't lie: I'm also lured in a bit by the fact that I can get RE6 - another mixed reception game - for $10 at Best Buy if I buy this at the same time
